''Baby Mine'' is a farce comedy play in three acts by Margaret Mayo (playwright), Margaret Mayo that made its Broadway theatre, Broadway debut at Daly's Theatre (30th St.), Daly's Theatre on August 23, 1910. The piece was produced by William A. Brady and remained at Daly's for nearly an entire season. Closing on April 1, 1911, ''Baby Mine'' then transferred to Brooklyn's Majestic Theatre for a three-week run which was followed by a brief stand at the Lyric Theatre (1903 New York City), Lyric Theatre in Manhattan before closing with a combined total from all three venues of 227 performances. ''Baby Mine'' is a 1917 American silent comedy film directed by both John S. Robertson and Hugo Ballin and starring Madge Kennedy. The picture marked Kennedy's screen debut and was one of the first films produced by Samuel Goldwyn as an independent after founding his own studio. "Baby Mine" is a song from the 1941 Disney animated feature ''Dumbo''. The music is by Frank Churchill, with lyrics by Ned Washington. Betty Noyes recorded the vocals for the original film version. In the film, Dumbo's mother, Mrs. Jumbo, an elephant locked in a circus wagon, cradles her baby Dumbo with her trunk while this lullaby is sung. It is also the last appearance of the circus animals. The song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 14th Academy Awards in 1942. It is also listed on AFI's "100 Years... 100 Songs" as one of America's greatest film songs. The Hunt Brothers were the owners of a steamboat business that ran on Puget Sound as part of the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet. Five of the seven Hunt children became owners, engineers and masters of steamboats, these were Emmett E., Arthur M., Arda R., Lloyd.B., and Forest M. Hunt. Background The family originally came from Michigan and settled near Wollochet Bay in 1876.
