"Baby Baby" is a song originally recorded by English punk rock band the Vibrators. Recording and release "Baby Baby" was written by Ian 'Knox' Carnochan, the primary songwriter in UK punk band, the Vibrators. The song was recorded by the Vibrators and released as a single in May 1977. It was their first single released on Epic Records with their previous singles having been released on RAK. The song on the B-side was "Into the Future". One month later, in June 1977, the song was included in the release of their debut album, ''Pure Mania''. The song was included in a session for John Peel at Radio 1. The song has since featured on numerous 'best of punk' compilation albums such as ''Punk: The Early Years'' and '' Punk's Not Dead - 30 Years of Punk'' as well as compilation albums containing only Vibrators tracks. The Vibrators
The Vibrators are a British punk rock band that formed in 1976. Early career The Vibrators were founded by Ian ' Knox' Carnochan, bassist Pat Collier, guitarist John Ellis, and drummer John 'Eddie' Edwards. They first came to public notice at the 100 Club when they backed Chris Spedding in 1976. On Spedding's recommendation, Mickie Most signed them to his label RAK Records. Most produced their first single, "We Vibrate". The band also backed Spedding on his single, "Pogo Dancing". The Vibrators recorded sessions for John Peel at BBC Radio 1 in October 1976, June 1977, and February 1978. They were one of the pioneering punk bands that played at London's Roxy Club. Knox (musician)
Knox (born Ian Milroy Carnochan, 4 September 1945) also known as I.M. Carnarchan is a British musician and founding member of the seminal punk rock, punk band the Vibrators. Biography Born in London, he spent his formative years in Cricklewood, (NW postcode area, North West London) and then Watford, where he became interested in the guitar at the age of thirteen. He was in various school bands, based at Watford Grammar School for Boys, including The Renegades and Knox and the Knight Ryders. Knox's budding musical development was gradually put on hold when he went to art school (in Watford, and in the West of England), where he developed an interest in painting. In 1972, Knox returned to playing music and in early 1976 was a founder member of the Vibrators, a Pub Rock band that cut its hair, changed its wardrobe, and jumped on the post-Sex Pistols punk bandwagon, despite its members being 10 years older than most of the originator bands. John Peel
John Robert Parker Ravenscroft (30 August 1939 – 25 October 2004), known professionally as John Peel, was an English disc jockey (DJ) and radio presenter. He was the longest-serving of the original BBC Radio 1 DJs, broadcasting regularly from 1967 until his death in 2004. Peel was one of the first broadcasters to play psychedelic rock and progressive rock records on British radio.
