Bihar Legislative Assembly
The Bihar Legislative Assembly, also known as the Bihar Vidhan Sabha, is the lower house of the Bihar Legislature where the first elections were held in 1952. The total strength of membership in the Assembly was 331, including one nominated member. Dr.Shri Krishna Singh became the first Leader of the House and the first Chief Minister, Dr. Anugrah Narayan Singh was elected as the first Deputy Leader of the Assembly and became state's first Deputy Chief Minister. It was reduced to 318 during the second General Elections. In 1977, the total number of elected members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly was further raised from 318 to 325. With the creation of a separate State of Jharkhand, by an Act of Parliament titled as the Bihar Reorganisation Act, the strength of the Bihar Legislative Assembly was reduced from 325 to 243 members. Deo Narayan Yadav
Deo Narayan Yadav (died 4 March, 2003) was an Indian politician and freedom fighter, elected first time 1952–1957 and 1957–1962 from Ladaniya constituency (now Babubarhi constituency). He was a member of the first ministry of Bihar led by Krishana Sinha. Yadav served as the 12th Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 1995–2000. He represented the Babubarhi Constituency in Madhubani from 1977–1980 and 1990-till death. Yadav died at his official residence on Tuesday, 82 years old and sitting Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA from Babubarhi assembly seat in Madhubani. October 2005 Bihar Legislative Assembly Election
Bihar Assembly elections were held twice in the year 2005. There was a fractured verdict in the ''February 2005 Assembly Election''. Since no government could be formed in Bihar, fresh elections were held in ''October–November'' the same year. Rashtriya Janata Dal
The Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD; translation: ''National People's Party'') is an Indian political party, based in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Kerala. The party was founded in 1997 by Lalu Prasad Yadav. The party's support base has traditionally been Other Backward Classes, Dalits and Muslims and it is considered a political champion of the lower castes. In 2008, RJD received the status of recognized national level party following its performance in north-eastern states. RJD was derecognised as a national party on 30 July 2010.
