Bilocate
Bilocate is a dark Oriental metal band from Amman, Jordan, founded in 2002 by Ramzi Essayed, Waseem Essayed and Hani Al Abbadi. The band's style combines doom metal, death metal and black metal with Oriental elements. History The band was founded by the brothers Ramzi and Waseem Essayed and their friend Hani Al Abadi, and got started when they were joined by guitarist Baha' Farah, and later by guitarist Rami Haikal. Their first full-length album, ''Dysphoria'', was released in the winter of 2005, and received significant airplay on the local governmental radio station ''Jordan FM'', with a 5-hour show being dedicated to the band and the album on October 27. They released a music video for "2nd War in Heaven." A second video, for "Days of Joy," was produced by Jacknife Video Productions. Bilocate added a new drummer, Ahmad Kloob, in late 2006, and started preparing for a new album. Rami Haikal
Rami (born Rami Abdel-Hakeem Haikal on 12 September 1983) is a prominent musician in the Jordanian metal scene. He is well known for his distinct guitar work in the band Bilocate. Biography Rami was born on 12 September 1983 in Amman, Jordan. He grew up in Amman, Jordan. When Rami was young, he met with Saeb Abu Al-Ragheb. The two soon became friends and started playing music together. Sharing the same passion for the Guitar instrument they tried to build custom made guitars in the age of 15. Rami joined several local Jordanian bands but with no recorded achievements, later in the summer of 2004 and while having a practice session with one of the local bands, he met Hani Al-Abbadi who was the Bassist of the Jordanian band Bilocate, 2 weeks later Ramzi Essayyed from Bilocate called Rami to set up for a meeting in which they have offered him to join the band as a guitarist. ''Summoning the Bygones'' is the third full-length studio album by BILOCATE. It was released four years after ''Sudden Death Syndrome''. Quoted is a description of the album written by BILOCATE: "Summoning The Bygones is BILOCATE's early visions presented in a new outfit, we've always felt that Dysphoria has much value to offer to listeners, however, maybe it got somehow underrated due to the weak sound quality (compared to SDS), so we'd like to share the same spirit and music and ideas with our listeners but with more proper arrangements, production, and sound quality. The album also includes a modified version of "Days of Joy" under a new name (which is actually the first name this song had originally when it was created in 2003), in addition to a brand new song and a cover song. Katatonia
Katatonia are a Swedish heavy metal band formed in Stockholm in 1991 by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström. The band started as a studio-only project for the duo, as an outlet for the band's love of death metal. Increasing popularity led them to add more band members for live performances, though outside of the band's founders, the lineup was a constantly changing, revolving door of musicians throughout the 1990s, notably including Mikael Åkerfeldt of the band Opeth for a period. After two death/doom albums, ''Dance of December Souls'' (1993) and ''Brave Murder Day'' (1996), problems with Renkse's vocal cords coupled with new musical influences led the band away from the screamed vocals of death metal to a more traditional, melodic form of heavy metal music. Opeth
Opeth is a Swedish progressive metal/rock band from Stockholm, formed in 1990 by lead vocalist David Isberg. The group has been through several personnel changes, including the replacement of every original member; notably Isberg in 1992. Mikael Åkerfeldt has been Opeth's frontman and primary songwriter since Isberg's departure. Opeth has consistently incorporated progressive, folk, blues, classical, and jazz influences into its usually lengthy compositions, as well as strong influences from death metal, especially in their early works.
