BCK Algebra
In mathematics, BCI and BCK algebras are algebraic structures in universal algebra, which were introduced by Y. Imai, K. Iséki and S. Tanaka in 1966, that describe fragments of the propositional calculus involving implication known as BCI and BCK logics. Definition BCI algebra An algebra (in the sense of universal algebra) \left( X;\ast ,0\right) of type \left( 2,0\right) is called a ''BCI-algebra'' if, for any x,y,z\in X, it satisfies the following conditions. (Informally, we may read 0 as "truth" and x\ast y as "y implies x".) ; BCI-1: \left( \left( x\ast y\right) \ast \left( x\ast z\right) \right) \ast \left( z\ast y\right) =0 ; BCI-2: \left( x\ast \left( x\ast y\right) \right) \ast y=0 ; BCI-3: x\ast x=0 ; BCI-4: x\ast y=0 \land y\ast x=0\implies x=y ; BCI-5: x\ast 0=0 \implies x=0 BCK algebra A BCI-algebra \left( X;\ast ,0\right) is called a ''BCK-algebra'' if it satisfies the following condition: ; BCK-1: \forall x\in X: 0\ast x=0. A partial order can then be defined as ...

British Rail Coach Type Codes
British Railways coach designations were a series of letter-codes used to identify different types of coaches, both passenger carrying and non-passenger carrying stock (NPCS). The code was generally painted on the end of the coach but non-gangwayed stock had the code painted on the side. They have been superseded by TOPS design codes. Background The London, Midland and Scottish Railway and the London and North Eastern Railway developed systems of identifying railway carriages with alphabetic codes. When British Railways was formed in 1948 it adapted the LNER system. Basic principles The codes are made up from a combination of letters, some of which can indicate more than one word; their meaning can only be determined according to their position in the code or the presence of other letters. The letters are: These letters (except ''Y'' and ''Z'') did not usually apply to passenger-rated but goods carrying vans (e.g. parcels vans, horse boxes, milk and fish vans). Their codes were ...

Buckie
Buckie ( gd, Bucaidh) is a burgh town (defined as such in 1888) on the Moray Firth coast of Scotland. Historically in Banffshire, Buckie was the largest town in the county until the administrative area was abolished in 1975. The town is the third largest in the Moray council area after Elgin and Forres and within the definitions of statistics published by the General Register Office for Scotland was ranked at number 75 in the list of population estimates for settlements in Scotland mid-year 2006. Buckie is virtually equidistant to Banff to the east and Elgin to the west, with both approximately distant whilst Keith lies to the south by road. Etymology The origin of the name of the town is not entirely clear. Although the folk etymology is that Buckie is named after a seashell (genus ''buccinum'') the reality is that the shared marine background is a coincidence. The name Buckie would not have originally identified a place immediately adjacent to the sea, so alternative ...

Compagnie Du Chemin De Fer Du Bas-Congo Au Katanga
The ''Compagnie du chemin de fer du bas-Congo au Katanga'' (BCK) was a railway operator in the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo and later in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zaire. Most of the lines were in the southern Katanga Province, with links to the Kasai River for transport of mineral exports down to Kinshasa and onward to the port of Matadi, and a link to the Angolan railway network for transport to Lobito on the Atlantic. Background The ''Comité Spécial du Katanga'' (CSK) created the ''Compagnie de Chemin de fer du Katanga'' (CFK) in 1902. It had a capital of 1,000,000 francs. The Congo Free State held 2,400 shares and the businessman and industrialist Robert Williams held 1,600 shares. Théodore Heyvaert was president and Robert Williams was vice-president. The CFK was to build links to the region where the city of Elisabethville (Lubumbashi) would be founded. One line would connect to the Rhodesian railways at Sakania, while another would connect to the port of ...
