BBC-3 (TV Series)
''BBC-3'' is a BBC television programme, devised and produced by Ned Sherrin and hosted by Robert Robinson,Radio Times entry for which aired for twenty-four hour-long editions during the winter of 1965–1966. It was the third in a line of weekend satire-and-chat shows, successor to ''That Was The Week That Was'' and ''Not So Much a Programme, More a Way of Life'', though David Frost did not participate in this series. Regular performers included John Bird, Lynda Baron, David Battley, Roy Dotrice, Bill Oddie, and Leonard Rossiter.Radio Times entry for Radio Times entry for Guests included Millicent Martin and Alan Bennett. Bill Oddie
William Edgar Oddie (born 7 July 1941) is an English writer, comedian, songwriter, musician, artist, birder, conservationist, television presenter and actor. He was a member of comedy trio The Goodies. A birder since his childhood in Quinton, Birmingham, Oddie has established a reputation as a naturalist, conservationist, and television presenter on wildlife issues. Some of his books are illustrated with his own paintings and drawings. Kenneth Tynan
Kenneth Peacock Tynan (2 April 1927 – 26 July 1980) was an English theatre critic and writer. Making his initial impact as a critic at ''The Observer'', he praised Osborne's ''Look Back in Anger'' (1956), and encouraged the emerging wave of British theatrical talent. In 1963, Tynan was appointed as the new National Theatre Company's literary manager. An opponent of theatre censorship, Tynan is often believed to have been the first person to say " fuck" on British television, during a live broadcast in 1965. Later in his life, he settled in California, where he resumed his writing career. Mary Therese McCarthy (June 21, 1912 – October 25, 1989) was an American novelist, critic and political activist, best known for her novel ''The Group'', her marriage to critic Edmund Wilson, and her storied feud with playwright Lillian Hellman. McCarthy was the winner of the Horizon Prize in 1949 and was awarded two Guggenheim Fellowships, in 1949 and 1959. BBC Two is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. Alan Bennett
Alan Bennett (born 9 May 1934) is an English actor, author, playwright and screenwriter. Over his distinguished entertainment career he has received numerous awards and honours including two BAFTA Awards, four Laurence Olivier Awards, and two Tony Awards. He also earned an Academy Award nomination for his film ''The Madness of King George'' (1994). In 2005 he received the Society of London Theatre Special Award. Bennett was born in Leeds and attended Oxford University, where he studied history and performed with the Oxford Revue.
