B. V. Prasad (born Barla Venkata Vara Prasad) was an Indian film director known for his works in Telugu cinema. In 1971, he directed Mattilo Manikyam which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu, for that year. Rajahmundry, officially known as Rajamahendravaram, is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and District headquarters of East Godavari district. It is the sixth most populated city in the state. During British rule, the District of Rajahmundry was created in the Madras Presidency in 1823. It was reorganised in 1859 and bifurcated into the Godavari and Krishna districts.
