B.D. Goenka
Bhagwan Das Goenka was the only son of Ramnath Goenka, a newspaper baron of India. He was a manager of ''The Indian Express'' and had been described as the "inveterate foe" of the Nehru family". His wife, Saroj, is the daughter of Shreyans Prasad Jain, after whom the SP Jain College in Mumbai is named. She is thus a first cousin of Ashok Kumar Jain, whose sons own the Times of India. The couple were the parents of three daughters, namely Arati Agarwal, Ritu Goenka and Kavita Singhania. The youngest daughter, Kavita, is the wife of Yadupati Singhania, a member of the JK Singhania family. Death Goenka died as a result of a Cardiac arrest in 1979. He was survived by his father, wife and three daughters. In his memory, the "B.D. ''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932. It is published in Mumbai by the Indian Express Group. In 1999, eight years after the group's founder Ramnath Goenka's death in 1991, the group was split between the family members. The southern editions took the name ''The New Indian Express'', while the northern editions, based in Mumbai, retained the original ''Indian Express'' name with ''"The"'' prefixed to the title. Shreyans Prasad Jain
Sahu Shreyans Prasad Jain (1908–1992) (also spelled as Shriyans Prasad Jain) was an Indian businessman, parliamentarian and a prominent member of the Jain community. He was the brother of notable businessman and philanthropist Sahu Shanti Prasad Jain. He was awarded Padma Bhushan for social work in 1988. Life Shreyans Prasad was born in 1908 to the Sahu Jain family of Najibabad, related to The Times of India Group and the Dalmia Group. He took over the India's first soda ash factory founded in Dhrangadhra (est. 1925), and established the Dhrangadhra Chemical Works in 1939. Ashok Kumar Jain
Ashok Jain (1934 – 4 February 1999) was the Chairman of Bennett, Coleman & Co., the parent company of ''The Times of India'' and other large newspapers. FERA violation charges Ashok Jain was indicted and arrested in 1998, a year before his death, in connection with an alleged violation of the FERA (Foreign Exchange Regulation Act). Again, the Times was accused of distorting facts pertaining to the case, even giving Ashok's indictment by the Enforcement Directorate the tint of a larger conspiracy against the Jain community in general.
