Basavanagowda Channabasavanagowda Patil is an Indian Kannada film actor turned politician who is the current Minister of State for Agriculture of Karnataka from 7 February 2020. (He is a three-term MLA from Hirekerur assembly constituency. B. C. Patil is a former cop, and apart from acting, he has also worked as a producer and director in the Kannada Film Industry.) Family and early life B. C. Patil was born on 14 November 1956 to the couple Sri. Channabasavanagowda Patil and Smt. Shivamma. He is married to Smt. Vanaja and has two daughters, Sowmya and Srushti. After completing B.A., he joined the Karnataka Police department on 1-8-1979 and was trained at Police Training College, Mysore. Acting career B. C. Patil debuted in the Vishnuvardhan hit ''Nishkarsha''. He has acted in the films '' Premachari'', ''Kaurava'', ''Shivappa Nayaka'' and ''Jogula''. Nishkarsha
''Nishkarsha'' (English: ''Definite Decision'') is a 1993 Indian Kannada-language heist thriller directed by Sunil Kumar Desai, starring Vishnuvardhan, Anant Nag and B. C. Patil. The story revolves around a bank robbery where terrorists become trapped with the hostages. It also explores the many travails of the police commissioner and anti-terrorist squad commandos to free the hostages and reign in the terrorists. The film was hailed as a one-of-a-kind in Kannada cinema with its realistic plot elements and that a single location used for most parts of filming. The film won three awards at the 1993–94 Karnataka State Film Awards — First Best Film, Best Screenplay (Sunil Kumar Desai) and Best Sound Recording (R. Kannan). Dalavayi also spelled Dalwai, Dalavay and Dalvoy was meaning title of Chief in Commander or Commander in the military in South Indian dynasty.
