B-EDGE
B-EDGE (also known as Carlos Toshiki & B-EDGE from 2017 to 2019) are a Japanese-American jazz band based in Japan. The band currently consists of drummer and leader Marty Bracey, bassist Wornell Jones, saxophonist and percussionist Teruo Gotō, pianist Tomoharu Hani, and guitarist Nishiyama "Hank" Fumio. The group would be joined by former Omega Tribe vocalist Carlos Toshiki on multiple occasions and officially from 2017 to 2019. History 2015–2017: Formation and first works Marty Bracey and Teruo Gotō had previously worked together as a backing band for 1986 Omega Tribe, originally with bassist Shigeru Watanabe, previously the bassist for Monta and Brothers alongside Bracey, before replacing Watanabe with Wornell Jones. The trio would continue to play in the band when it was renamed to Carlos Toshiki & Omega Tribe and at their final concerts before disbandment. Omega Tribe (Japanese Band)
Omega Tribe (Japanese: ; sometimes stylized as Ωmega Tribe) was a Japanese soft rock and city pop project that was led by producer Koichi Fujita, with the bands being handled by industry veterans Tetsuji Hayashi, Tsunehiro Izumi, and Hiroshi Shinkawa at different points of the band's existence. The project was active from the early 1980s to the late 1990s, having several hits during its lifespan with the help of lyricists, composers, and arrangers. The band underwent several core member changes as well as name changes, with the band changing vocalists three times with the introductions of Kiyotaka Sugiyama in 1983, Carlos Toshiki in 1986, and Masahito Arai in 1993. The band has also had many offshoot bands that have stemmed from members collaborating. Many of the band's works were focused on themes of summer, sea, and resorts, making them one of the leading bands with summer songs along with Southern All Stars and Tube. Wornell Jones
Wornell Jones (born November 14) is an American bassist. He has performed with many people and groups in the United States and Japan, including likes of Sly and the Family Stone, Koko Taylor, Chage and Aska, Hiromi Go, and Omega Tribe. He is sometimes given the nickname "The Sonic Prince" from the live album '' Night After Night'' by Nils Lofgren, which he participated in. Biography Jones was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in one of its neighborhoods. He started playing with the Palatons before going into various clubs and playing with blues musicians, including guitarist Bobby Parker. He started venturing into playing in studio sessions via one of the Bon Jovi brothers. Jones became a member of the Young Senators in the 70's, being the bassist for their debut single "Jungle" in 1971.
