''Aşk-ı Memnu'' is the second television series produced in Turkey and the first television miniseries adapted from the eponymous novel by Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil. The first part of the six-part series was released on TRT 1 channel on 19 April 1975. TRT 1
TRT 1 (''TRT One'') is the first Turkish national television channel, owned by state broadcaster TRT. It was launched on 31 January 1968 as a test broadcast and was officially launched in December 1971. It was the only channel in Turkey until 15 September 1986, when TRT launched its second channel, 2. Kanal. It is also available in Azerbaijan on terrestrial television. On 19 May 2012, it started broadcasting on 16:9 aspect ratio and launched its own HD simulcast feed. TRT 1 is Turkish general TV channel, available as free-to-air through Turksat satellite, Digitürk, D-Smart, Turksat Cable TV, Tivibu or in neighbored countries via foreign cable platform. Itır Esen (born 17 December 1956) is a Turkish film actress. She is the daughter of film actor Hayri Esen. Her niece, also named Itır Esen, is a model. Biography Itır Esen was born in Istanbul on 17 December 1956 and started out as a fashion model for the newspaper ''Milliyet''. She acted in a popular TV series called "Aşk-ı Memnu" and made her film debut in "Bizim Aile" opposite Tarık Akan. She is also known for Aile Şerefi, Gülen Gözler. She married Turkish film director Yavuz Turgul and retired from acting. In the 2000s (decade) she came out of retirement to occasionally act in supporting roles. She has two children. Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil
Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil (also spelled Halit and Uşakizâde) (; 1866 – 27 March 1945) was a Turkish author, poet, and playwright. A part of the ''Edebiyat-ı Cedide'' ("New Literature") movement of the late Ottoman Empire, he was the founder of and contributor to many literary movements and institutions, including his flagship ''Servet-i Fünun'' ("The Wealth of Knowledge") journal. He was a strong critic of the Sultan Abdul Hamid II, which led to the censorship of much of his work by the Ottoman government. Çolpan Ä°lhan (8 August 1936 – 25 July 2014) was a Turkish cinema and theatre actress. In 1998 she was awarded the title of State Artist of Turkey. She acted in more than 300 films and theater plays. First years Ä°lhan received her secondary education at Istanbul Kandilli High School for Girls. Later she studied theater at Ä°stanbul Municipal Drama School and painting at State Academy of Istanbul for Fine Arts.
