Aztec Soccer Club
{{Unreferenced, date=April 2022 The Aztec Soccer Club is a full-scale developmental soccer organization located on the North Shore of Massachusetts. The Aztec Soccer Club is structured like a pyramid, running programs for all age groups and genders. The club runs Soccer Tots and Youth Clinics for ages 18 months – 6 years, youth teams ages 7–19 and the pro-caliber Boston Aztec men's and women's amateur teams. Boston Aztec men's and women's teams play in three separate leagues. The men play indoors in the winter in the Premier Arena Soccer League ( PASL) New England Division, and outdoors in the summer in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Northeast Division. The women play outdoors over the summer in the Eastern Conference – North Division of the Women's Premier Soccer League. The Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) is an indoor soccer league with mostly semi-professional teams; along with a number of amateur teams across North America North America is a continent in the Northern Hemisphere and almost entirely within the Western Hemisphere. The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is an amateur women's soccer league in the United States and Canada. It is the top amateur league for women's soccer in the United States soccer pyramid, below only National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The WPSL is the longest-running active women's soccer league as it enters its 23rd season in 2021 – the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Boston Breakers was a professional soccer team that played in the Women's United Soccer Association. The team played at Nickerson Field on the campus of Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. History The Boston Breakers began play in 2001. The team held a "name the team" contest that fifteen-year-old Laura DeDonato of Easton, Massachusetts won with the name "Boston Breakers." In the final season in the WUSA, the Breakers had their best record (10-4-7) and placed first in the regular season before losing to the Washington Freedom in the semifinals.
