Azize Tanrıkulu (born February 9, 1986) is a Turkish taekwondo athlete, who competed in the Women's 57 kg class at the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China and won the silver medal. She lost the final match against Lim Su-Jeong by 0-1. She is competing for the İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi S.K. She studied at Akdeniz University. She graduated from physical education and sports at Akdeniz University. Taekwondo At The 2008 Summer Olympics
The event of Taekwondo competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics is held in Beijing. It was on the duration of August 20 to August 23 at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium. The event consists of various athletes, who are 128 Taekwondo practitioners, consisting 64 men and 64 women. These athletes competed in 8 events, where for the first time ever, two bronze medals were awarded per event. The highlight of the 2008 Summer Olympics are the top 3 Men Taekwondo medalists, which are: Guillermo Perez from Mexico, Yulis Gabriel Mercedes from Dominica Republic, and Mu-Yen Chu from Taipei. ''Taekwondo'', ''Tae Kwon Do'' or ''Taekwon-Do'' (; ko, 태권도/跆拳道 ) is a Korean form of martial arts involving punching and kicking techniques, with emphasis on head-height kicks, spinning jump kicks, and fast kicking techniques. The literal translation for tae kwon do is "kicking", "punching", and "the art or way of". Bahri Tanrıkulu
Bahri Tanrıkulu (born March 16, 1980 in Ankara, Turkey) is a Turkish taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the Men's 80 kg division at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens, Greece and won the silver medal. He studied at Akdeniz University. He is Turkey's first World and European Taekwondo champion. He was a member of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club before he transferred to Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt Spor Kulübü. The tall athlete is student of physical education and sports at Akdeniz University. He qualified for participation at the 2012 Summer Olympics where he reached the semi final. Personal life Bahri is the eldest of four siblings in a family originating from Diyarbakır. His brothers Tunç and Çağrı, as well as his sister Azize perform taekwondo.
