Aziz Kaprawi
Datuk Ab Aziz bin Kaprawi (born 24 July 1959) is a Malaysian politician. He was the Johor State Legislative Assembly member for the constituency of Parit Raja from 2004 to 2013 and Member of Parliament for Sri Gading in Johor from 2013 until 2018. He was the Deputy Minister of Transport in the Malaysian cabinet. He is a member of United Malay National Organisation (UMNO), a major component party in the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. Johor State Executive Council
The Johor State Executive Council is the executive authority of the Government of Johor, Malaysia. The Council comprises the Menteri Besar, appointed by the Sultan on the basis that he is able to command a majority in the Johor State Legislative Assembly, a number of members made up of members of the Assembly, the State Secretary, the State Legal Adviser and the State Financial Officer. This Council is similar in structure and role to the Cabinet of Malaysia, while being smaller in size. As federal and state responsibilities differ, there are a number of portfolios that differ between the federal and state governments. Parit Raja is a town in Batu Pahat District, Johor, Malaysia. The main population of this town and its surrounding areas has been resided by Malay with Javanese descent, besides the Chinese population. Pakatan Harapan
The Alliance of Hope ( ms, Pakatan Harapan; abbrev: PH; stylized as HARAPAN) is a Malaysian political coalition consisting of centre-left political parties which was formed in 2015 to succeed the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. It has been the ruling coalition since November 2022 after it formed the coalition government with other political coalitions and parties as a result of the 2022 Malaysian general election, and after it won the 2018 Malaysian general election to February 2020 when it lost power as a result of the 2020 Malaysian political crisis at the federal level for 22 months. Malaysian United Indigenous Party
The Malaysian United Indigenous Party ( ms, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia), abbreviated BERSATU or PPBM, is a nationalist political party in Malaysia. The party was preceded by the United Indigenous Association of Malaysia (). It is a major component party within the Perikatan Nasional coalition and the Barisan Nasional coalition, after the collapse of the Pakatan-led government. BERSATU was approved and fully registered on 14 January 2017 by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the use of the BERSATU logo was authorized by the Malaysian Election Commission (SPR). Barisan Nasional
The National Front ( ms, Barisan Nasional; abbrev: BN) is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties. It is also the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after coalition Pakatan Harapan with 82 seats and the coalition Perikatan Nasional with 73 seats. Mohamad Aziz
Mohamad bin Aziz (29 July 1940 – 24 December 2020) was the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Sri Gading constituency in the state of Johor from 1999 to 2013. He sat in Parliament as a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) party in the governing Barisan Nasional coalition. From 1981 to 1986 Mohamad served as an assistant to Hussein Onn, a former Prime Minister of Malaysia. Mohamad was a member of the Executive Council (akin to a State Cabinet) of Johor from 1990 to 1995 and the Johor State Government Information Chief from 1995 to 1999. In 1999 he was elected to Parliament for the Sri Gading constituency. Mohamad caused controversy in 2009 when he called for two ministers in his Barisan Nasional government to resign. 2013 Malaysian General Election
General elections were held in Malaysia on Sunday, 5 May 2013 to elect the members of the 13th Parliament. Voting took place in all 222 parliamentary constituencies, each electing one MP to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 505 state constituencies in 12 of the 13 states (excluding Sarawak) on the same day. The elections were the first since Najib Razak became Prime Minister in 2009. The incumbent right-wing Barisan Nasional led by Najib won a second term against the opposition centre-left Pakatan Rakyat led by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, after Barisan Nasional formed a majority government at a federal level.
