Aziz Ahmed Khan
Aziz Ahmed Khan (born 1978) is an Indian politician. In 2016, he was elected as MLA of Karimganj South Vidhan Sabha constituency in Assam Legislative Assembly. He is an All India United Democratic Front politician. Just before the 2021 Assembly election, he resigned from the AIUDF and joined the Asom Gana Parishad, but lost to Siddeque Ahmed in the election. Farampasha
Farampasha ( bn, ফারমপাশা, Farômpasha), also spelt Farampassa, is a village and gram panchayat located in Nilambazar block, Karimganj district in the Indian state of Assam. It is 18 kilometres south of the district headquarters Karimganj. Farampasha is composed of three parts, collectively with a population of 4412, 1617 households and total area of 5.013 square kilometres. History Farampasha was formerly a part of the Dewadi pargana of Sylhet district. Following the conquest of Sylhet in 1303, Muslims started to settle in Dewadi and nearby areas. A traveller named Muluk Suwai cleared the jungles of Dewadi, and established his home there. During a visit to the Shah Jalal Dargah in Sylhet, Suwai was asked where his residence was. Karimganj District
Karimganj district is one of the 34 districts of the Indian state of Assam. Karimganj town is both the administrative headquarters district and the biggest town of this district. It is located in southern Assam and borders Tripura and the Sylhet Division of Bangladesh. It makes up the Barak Valley alongside Hailakandi and Cachar. Karimganj was previously part of the Sylhet District before the Partition of India. It became a district in 1983. The All India United Democratic Front (also known as AIUDF and ''Sarva Bharatiya Sanyukt Ganatantric Morcha'') is a political party active in the Indian state of Assam. It is the 3rd largest political party in Assam Legislative Assembly after BJP and Indian National Congress, INC. The party was founded by Maulana Badruddin Ajmal on 3 October 2005 and at that time, its name was Assam United Democratic Front (AUDF). It was relaunched as a national party under its current name at a press meet in New Delhi on 2 February 2009, again with the Badruddin Ajmal as the party's leader. Asom Gana Parishad
Asom Gana Parishad (translation: ''Assam People's Council'', AGP) is a state political party in Assam, India. The AGP was formed after the historic Assam Accord of 1985 and formally launched at the Golaghat Convention held from 13–14 October 1985 in Golaghat, that let Prafulla Kumar Mahanta to be elected as the youngest chief minister of the state. The AGP has formed government twice from 1985 to 1989 and from 1996 to 2001. The party split in 2005, with former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta forming the Asom Gana Parishad (Progressive), but regrouped on 14 October 2008 in Golaghat.
