Azhagappapuram
Azhagappapuram is a panchayat town in Kanyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located about five miles northwest of Kanyakumari, the southern tip of India. It is one of the beautiful and model towns in the Kanyakumari district. It falls under the Agastheeswaram taluk of Tamil Nadu. St. Antony's church stands in the middle, which is the major site of attraction of Azhagai. Location and transport It spans an area of about nine km2. Panchayat Town
A nagar panchayat (town panchayat; ) or Notified Area Council (NAC) in India is a settlement in transition from rural to urban and therefore a form of an urban political unit comparable to a municipality. An urban centre with more than 12,000 and less than 40,000 inhabitants is classified as a nagar panchayat. Such councils are formed under the panchayati raj administrative system. Vattakottai Fort (or 'Circular Fort') is a seaside fort near Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu the southern tip of India. It was built in the 18th century as a coastal defence-fortification and barracks in the former Travancore kingdom. It was constructed in the 18th century by Punachal/Elakkara Valiyaveetil Marthandan Chempakaraman Pillai for the kings of Travancore. Thovalai is a small village located in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India. The area is well known in India for its production of flowers, especially jasmine. Suchindram is a panchayat town in Kanyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu with Indian postal code as 629704. Agastheeswaram is a panchayat town in Kanniyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. History Agasteeswaram is named after Sage Agastya who had visited this place to teach Ramayana.
