''Ayşecik ve Sihirli Cüceler Rüyalar Ülkesinde'' (''Little Ayşe and the Magic Dwarfs in the Land of Dreams'') is a 1971 film by Turkish film director Tunç Başaran, an uncredited and very close adaptation by Hamdi Değirmencioğlu of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel ''The Wonderful Wizard of Oz''. The film was produced by Özdemir Birsel for Hisar (Citadel) Film. Tunç Başaran
Tunç Başaran (October 1, 1938 – December 18, 2019) was a Turkish screenwriter, film director, film producer and actor. Biography After attending the Faculty of Literature for a while he left school and started working as a script writer for the director Memduh Ün. He then continued to be the assistant of Memduh Ün for a long time. Meanwhile, he also worked as assistant for such directors as Ömer Lütfi Akad, Halit Refiğ, Atıf Yılmaz, Ertem Göreç. In 1964 he directed his first feature ''Survival''. By 1962, he had directed about 40 films. After 1972, he switched to commercials. He directed ''Don't Let Them Shoot The Kite'' in 1989. Nick Chopper, the Tin Woodman, also known as the Tin Man or—mistakenly—the "Tin Woodsman," is a character in the fictional Land of Oz created by American author L. Frank Baum. Suna Selen (born 1 July 1939) is a Turkish actress of theatre, film and television. She has appeared in numerous plays at the Istanbul State Theatre. Life Selen was born in 1939 in Istanbul. Cowardly Lion
The Cowardly Lion is a character in the fictional Land of Oz created by American author L. Frank Baum. He is depicted as an African lion, but like all animals in Oz, he can speak. Since lions are supposed to be "The Kings of Beasts," the Cowardly Lion believes that his fear makes him inadequate. He does not understand that courage means acting in the face of fear, which he does frequently.
