Axiom (Christian Scott Album)
''Axiom'' is a live album by American jazz musician Christian Scott released on August 28, 2020 by Ropeadope Records label. The album is also available in a special deluxe edition and as a vinyl release. Background ''Axiom'' is his third live release and contains a collection of tracks recorded in March 2020 in the New York's Blue Note Jazz Club during Scott's final pre-pandemic concert. The album was released to support his previous 2019 album '' Ancestral Recall''. The concert saw Adjuah on trumpet as well as Elena Pinderhughes on flute, Alex Han on saxophone, Weedie Braimah on djembe, Lawrence Fields on piano, Kris Funn on bass, and Corey Fonville on drums. Christian Scott (born March 31, 1983), known professionally as Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah), is an American jazz trumpeter, multi instrumentalist, composer, and producer. He has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, is a two-time Edison Award winner, the recipient of the JazzFM Innovator/Innovation of the year Award in 2016, Jazz Journalist Trumpeter of the Year, The Herb Alpert Award in the arts, and The Changing Worlds Peace Maker Award. Adjuah is the grandson of Big Chief Donald Harrison Sr. and Grand Griot of New Orleans and Guardians Institute founder Herreast Harrison, the nephew of jazz saxophonist Donald Harrison Jr., and is a chieftain of the Xodokan Nation of the maroon tribes of New Orleans. ''Circle in the Round'' is a 1979 compilation album by jazz musician Miles Davis. It compiled outtakes from sessions across fifteen years of Davis's career that, with one exception, had been previously unreleased. All of its tracks have since been made available on album reissues and posthumous box sets. Material "Two Bass Hit" is from a 1955 session. A 1958 re-recording was released on ''Milestones''. " Love for Sale", previously released on a 1974 Japanese compilation, features the same lineup that would play on most of ''Kind of Blue''. "Blues No. 2" comes from the last session that Davis and John Coltrane would record together in 1961, although Coltrane does not play on the track. Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26, 1926September 28, 1991) was an American trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Davis adopted a variety of musical directions in a five-decade career that kept him at the forefront of many major stylistic developments in jazz. David Crosby
David Van Cortlandt Crosby (born August 14, 1941) is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter. In addition to his solo career, he was a founding member of both the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Crosby joined the Byrds in 1964. They got their first number-one hit in April 1965 with a cover of " Mr. Tambourine Man" by Bob Dylan.
