Axel Nilsson
Axel "Acke" Nilsson (12 November 1904 – 22 April 1978) was a Swedish football, ice hockey and bandy player, best known for representing Hammarby IF and AIK in all three sports. A full international between 1930 and 1937, he won eight caps for the Sweden national football team. He also competed for the Sweden national ice hockey team at the 1936 Winter Olympics. Athletic career Football Born in Stockholm, Nilsson made his debut with Hammarby IF in 1925. Competing in Division 2, the second tier, Nilsson almost led the club to a promotion in his six seasons with the club. In total, Nilsson played 93 games and scored 46 goals for Hammarby IF, leading the team's offensive forces together with Sture Gillström, Sigfrid Öberg and Åke Hallberg. Le Mat Trophy
The Le Mat Trophy ( sv, Le Mat-pokalen, "Le Mat Cup") is the trophy awarded to Swedish champions in ice hockey, which since 1976 has been the winners of the SHL playoffs. The Le Mat is the oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in Sweden. The trophy was donated by the founding father of ice hockey in Sweden, Raoul Le Mat, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. in 1926. Hammarby Idrottsförening ("Hammarby Sports Club"), commonly known as Hammarby IF or simply Hammarby ( or, especially locally, ), is a Swedish sports club located in Stockholm, with a number of member organizations active in a variety of different sports. Per Ludvig Gösta Kaufeldt (1 August 1902 – 21 March 1956) was a Swedish football and bandy player. He won a bronze medal at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Kaufeldt is the all-time top scorer of AIK, with 122 goals in 170 matches; he won the national football title with the club in 1923 and 1932 and a bandy title in 1931. Allsvenskan (; en, the All-Swedish, also known as Fotbollsallsvenskan, en, the Football All-Swedish) is a Swedish professional league for men's association football clubs. It was founded in 1924 and is the top tier of the Swedish football league system, operating on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan. Sigfrid "Sigge" Öberg (22 February 1907 – 2 April 1949) was a Swedish ice hockey, football and bandy player, known for representing Hammarby IF in all three sports. Sture "Stöttan" Gillström (3 December 1908 – 28 January 1978) was a Swedish football, ice hockey and bandy player, known for representing Hammarby IF in all three sports. Early life Sture Gillström grew up in a working-class home in a southern part of Stockholm known as Södermalm. He and his two siblings were raised by the mother, since the father died in the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. Division 2 (Swedish Football)
Division 2 is the fourth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 84 Swedish football teams. Division 2 had status as the official second level from 1928 to 1986 but was replaced by Division 1 in 1987. It then had status as the official third level until 2005 but was replaced once again by the recreated Division 1 in 2006. Overview In the Division, there are 84 clubs which are divided in six groups of 14 teams each representing a geographical area.
