Awesomeness (abbreviation of AwesomenessTV) is an American-based film and television studio as well as a multi-channel based multilingual television network owned by Paramount Digital Studios, a division of Paramount Global. Established in June 2012 by Brian Robbins and Joe Davola, the network initially focused on children’s programs, teen dramas, comedies, live events, and music videos targeting adolescents and young adults. AwesomenessTV initially operated an eponymous YouTube channel and multi-channel network. The company later expanded into talent, branded content, music, publishing, and retail. In 2013, DreamWorks Animation acquired AwesomenessTV. In 2014, Hearst Corporation acquired a 25% minority stake. ''Fred'' (often stylized as FЯED) is a Nickelodeon media franchise based on the YouTube series and character of the same name created by Lucas Cruikshank. The films are produced by Derf Films, Varsity Pictures, The Collective and distributed by Lionsgate. Similar to the YouTube series, the franchise follows a high-pitched, loud mouthed individual known as Fred Figglehorn and the misadventures he goes on in the real world while discovering various life lessons. Fred Figglehorn (stylized as FЯED) was the central character in an Internet video series created by then-teenager Lucas Cruikshank in 2006. It yielded other spin-off series and a relationship with Nickelodeon, including three movies and a television series. History Lucas Cruikshank introduced the Fred character in a video on JKL Productions, a YouTube channel he started on YouTube with his cousins, Jon and Katie Smet on June 11, 2006. Cruikshank uploaded several videos testing out different characters. The first ''Fred'' video was uploaded on October 30, 2006. On April 30, 2008, these videos were moved to the ''Fred'' channel. Lucas Alan Cruikshank (born August 29, 1993) is an American YouTuber and actor who created the character Fred Figglehorn and the associated ''Fred'' series for his channel on the video hosting service, video-hosting website YouTube in late 2006. These videos are centered on Fred Figglehorn, a fictional six-year-old who has a dysfunctional home life and "anger management issues".
