Awah
Awah, or Avba, is a town in Delta State, Nigeria. Located on the shores of the Ase River in the Ndokwa East Local Government Area, it is one of the Isoko speaking communities found in the Old Aboh political division. Until the creation of Delta State in 1991, it was formerly with the Ndoshimili Local Government Area with headquarters located in Kwale, in the defunct Bendel state. Awah is the oldest of the communities that make up the Ibrede clan. The name Awah was derived from Awvenfor which literally means “Let us rest”. Oral history has it that the first inhabitants of Awah migrated from Otor-Iyede in the present-day Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. The current location was the place where the group of immigrants who left Otor-Iyede during the uprising in Otor-Iyede rested but majority of the immigrants later went their separate ways leaving Igwoma and a few others behind. Anyama
Anyama is a city in south-eastern Ivory Coast. It is a suburb of Abidjan and is one of four sub-prefectures of Abidjan Autonomous District. Anyama is also a commune. The city is located about 20 kilometres north of Abidjan. Villages in the sub-prefecture include Akoupé-Zeudji, Attinguié, and M'Bonoua. Sport Anyama is represented in football by Rio Sport d'Anyama. Iyede-Ame
Iyede-Ame, ("watery Iyede") derived its name from Iyede, an upland town in Isoko South Local Government Area in Delta State, Nigeria. Oral legend has it that the first inhabitants of Iyede-Ame migrated from Iyede mentioned above. A riverine community situated in Ndokwa East Local Government Area is one of the Isoko speaking towns found in the Old Aboh political division. The town Iyede-Ame is bordered by Onogboko, Igeh, Ivrogbo, Akara-etiti, Utue and LagosIyede-Ame, an adjunct community. The town has two major quarters, Ushie and Ogbodogbo with several other adjoining communes. The highest leadership authority in the town is the president who chairs the National Working Committee (NWC) that oversees the general development of the town. Ofagbe ("Ofa kugbe") is a town about southeast of Ozoro, the headquarters of the Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Legend has it that the town was established by three families who migrated from various points in the then Benin Kingdom to settle and call the town "home." Isoko North
Isoko North is one of two Local Government Areas (LGA) in the Isoko region of Delta State, southern Nigeria – the other being Isoko South. The population of Isoko North was approximately 112,000 as of 2003. Its headquarters are in the town of Ozoro which has 14,000 seater capacity Olympic size stadium at the Delta State Polytechnic Ozoro. There are 13 Electoral Wards in the Local Government Area. Mid-Western Region, Nigeria
The Mid-Western Region was a division of Nigeria from 1963 to 1991, from 1976 being known as the Bendel state. It was formed in June 1963 from Benin and Delta provinces of the Western Region, and its capital was Benin City. It was renamed a province in 1966, and in 1967 when the other provinces were divided into several states, it remained territorially intact, becoming a state. During the Nigerian Civil War, the Biafran forces invaded the new Mid-Western state, en route to Lagos, in an attempt to force a quick end to the war. While under Biafran occupation, the state was declared the "Republic of Benin".
