Awagarh
Awagarh is a historic town and a Municipality City in Etah district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a tehsil of many colours and contrasts. Here stands a 108-acre pristine fort of Jadaun Rajputs rulers of the Kshatriya clan, who after migration from Karauli had built this magnificent fortress in the 12th century on a tiny mound, claiming the biggest moat encircling around it. The fort, surrounded by lush green fields, is an ideal destination for nature lovers and a perfect getaway from a chaotic city life. Raja Balwant Singh Ji of Awagarh, built a college named after him as Raja Balwant Singh College at Agra. He donated hundreds of acres of land to the college. He also helped Rabindra Nath Tagore to set up Shantiniketan. This city ranked first in district in Swachh Bharat Mission (Sahari) 2019 and second in state. Etah district is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh, India, since 1854. Etah City is the district headquarters. Etah district is a part of Aligarh Division. Balwant Singh Of Awagarh
Balwant Singh, Raja of Awagarh, (1852–1909) was a noted zamindar and philanthropist from Awagarh. He was noted for his philanthropy in field of education. He purchased land and started Rajput High School in 1885 at Agra with a donation of Rs. 12,00,000, which has now grown into Raja Balwant Singh College. He made an further endowment of Rs. 9,30,000 in year 1909 before his death for the college. He also donated more than 100 acres in Agra for agriculture known as Khandari Farm, attached to Rajput High School. He was a close friend of Sir Harcort Butler, who later became Governor of United Provinces and we can find mention of it in speeches of Sir Harcourt. Balwant Singh was also a close friend and associate of Madan Mohan Malviya. Tundla Junction Railway Station
Tundla Junction is an important station in Uttar Pradesh. It is located on the Delhi–Howrah main line 25 km from Agra City. Tundla is a technical halt for changing drivers and guards for almost all of the trains on the New Delhi–Mughalsarai / Lucknow sections. Swachh Bharat Mission
Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission is a country-wide campaign initiated by the Government of India in 2014 to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management. It is a restructured version of the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan launched in 2009 and carried out by predecessor Manmohan Singh that failed to achieve its intended targets. Phase 1 of the Swachh Bharat Mission lasted till October 2019. Phase 2 is being implemented between 2020–21 and 2024–25 to help cement the work of Phase 1. Shantiniketan
Santiniketan is a neighbourhood of Bolpur town in the Bolpur subdivision of Birbhum district in West Bengal, India, approximately 152 km north of Kolkata. Rabindranath Tagore (; bn, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর; 7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941) was a Bengali polymath who worked as a poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter.
