Avril Anderson (born 10 June 1953) is an English people, English music educator and composer. Biography Avril Anderson was born in Southsea, Hampshire, England. In 1972 she entered the Royal College of Music where she studied with Humphrey Searle and John Lambert (composer), John Lambert. In 1996 she continued her studies at the New England Conservatory with David del Tredici in New York City. Anderson won the Cobbett Prize for composition, and her music has been performed in Europe, Australia and the United States. Anderson has directed educational projects, and took a position at the Royal College of Music in 2001. She is co-artistic director with her husband David Sutton-Anderson of Sounds Positive and has been Composer-in-Residence for the Young Place London Contemporary Dance School since 1990. Étienne Avril (1748-1791) was a French furniture designer, or ébéniste. Early life Étienne Avril was born in 1748. He had two brothers, both of whom also became ébénistes. Career As an ébéniste, Avril mostly designed rectangular mahogany panels, framed by bronze. He became a maître-ébéniste, or master furniture designer, in 1774. A year later, in 1775, he began adding porcelain to the design of his furniture. For example, he added two nymphs made of bisque to a wardrobe he designed for the Palace of Fontainebleau. Édouard-Henri Avril (21 May 1849 – 28 July 1928) was a French painter and commercial artist. Under the pseudonym Paul Avril, he was an illustrator of erotic literature. His career saw collaboration with influential people like Octave Uzanne, Henry Spencer Ashbee and Friedrich Karl Forberg. Avril was a soldier before starting his career in art. He was awarded with the Legion of Honour for his actions in the Franco-Prussian War. Life Avril was born in Algiers. His father was a colonel of the gendarmerie. Clifford Samuel Avril (born April 8, 1986) is a former American football defensive end. He played college football at Purdue and was drafted in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.
