Avis Kimble
Avis Kimble (born October 18, 1944) is an American model. At age 17 she was photographed by Jon Pownall to become ''Playboy'' magazine's Playmate of the Month for its November 1962 issue. Avis was one of three finalists for that year's Playmate of the Year, and appeared on the cover of the January 1963 issue. June Cochran beat out Avis and Laura Young for the title. Kimble worked as a Bunny at the Chicago Playboy Club, and also ran a boutique in the Windy City at the same time. She was one of the Editors' choices for the top ten Playmates of all time during Playboy's ten-year anniversary celebration. She did not make the top ten list when the readers' top ten was voted on. June Cochran
June Cochran (February 20, 1943 – May 20, 2004) was an American model and beauty queen. Biography Cochran was born in East Tennessee and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana after her sophomore year in high school. She won the Miss Indiana USA pageant in 1960, but was unplaced at the national competition. She was also Miss Indiana World 1962, but unplaced at Miss USA World 1962. She later was ''Playboy'' magazine's Playmate of the Month for its December 1962 issue, and Playmate of the Year for 1963. Her original pictorial was photographed by Don Bronstein. She was also a Playboy Bunny at the Chicago club. Cochran died in Madison, Wisconsin, at the age of 61. Playboy Playmate
A Playmate is a female model featured in the centerfold/gatefold of ''Playboy'' magazine as Playmate of the Month (PMOTM). The PMOTM's pictorial includes nude photographs and a centerfold poster, along with a pictorial biography and the "Playmate Data Sheet", which lists her birthdate, measurements, turn-ons, and turn-offs. At the end of the year, one of the 12 Playmates of the Month is named Playmate of the Year (PMOTY). Every Playmate of the Month is awarded a prize of US$25,000 and each Playmate of the Year receives an additional prize of US$100,000 plus a car (specifically, a short-term lease of a car) and other discretionary gifts. In addition, Anniversary Playmates are usually chosen to celebrate a milestone year of the magazine. Playboy Bunny
A Playboy Bunny is a waitress who works at a Playboy Club and selected through standardized training. Their costumes were made up of lingerie, inspired by the tuxedo-wearing Playboy rabbit mascot. This costume consisted of a strapless corset teddy, bunny ears, black sheer-to-waist pantyhose, a bow tie, a collar, cuffs and a fluffy cottontail. In more recent Playboy Clubs, such as Sin City that was re-opened in 2006, Playboy bunnies wore slightly altered costumes that were based on the original bunny suit. Origins The original Playboy Bunny costume was designed by the mother of Ilse Taurins, who was a Latvian émigrée. At the time, Taurins was dating one of the Playboy Club co-founders, Victor Lownes III. Taurins had suggested a costume modeled after the Playboy Magazine trademark, either a rabbit or bunny, and she had her seamstress mother make a costume prototype. Playboy Club
The Playboy Club was initially a chain of nightclubs and resorts owned and operated by Playboy Enterprises. The first Playboy Club opened in Chicago in 1960. Each club generally featured a Living Room, a Playmate Bar, a Dining Room, and a Club Room. Members and their guests were served food and drinks by Playboy Bunnies, some of whom were featured in ''Playboy'' magazine. The clubs offered name entertainers and comedians in the Club Rooms, and local musicians and the occasional close-up magician in the Living Rooms. Starting with the London and Jamaica club locations, the Playboy Club became international in scope. In 1991, the club chain became defunct. Thereafter, on October 6, 2006, a Playboy Club was opened in Las Vegas at the Palms Casino Resort, and in 2010 clubs were opened as well in Macau and Cancun.
