Aviatorśke ( uk, Авіаторське) or Aviatorskoye (russian: Авиаторское) is an urban-type settlement in Dnipro Raion within Dnipropetrovsk Oblast of eastern Ukraine. It belongs to Dnipro urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: Aviatorske is located about 12 kilometres in the southeast of Dnipro city centre. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast ( uk, Дніпропетро́вська о́бласть, translit=Dnipropetrovska oblast), also referred to as Dnipropetrovshchyna ( uk, Дніпропетро́вщина), is an administrative divisions of Ukraine, oblast (province) of central-eastern Ukraine, the most important industrial region of the country. A hromada ( uk, територіальна громада, lit=territorial community, translit=terytorialna hromada) is a basic unit of administrative division in Ukraine, similar to a municipality. It was established by the Government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020. Similar terms exist in Poland (''gromada'') and in Belarus (''hramada''). Dnipro International Airport
Dnipro International Airport ( ua, Міжнародний аеропорт «Дніпро») was an airport serving Dnipro, a city in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine. It is located southeast from the city center. On 24 February 2022, Ukraine closed airspace to civilian flights due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. On 10 April 2022 a Russian attack completely destroyed the airport and the infrastructure nearby. Facilities The airport is at an elevation of above mean sea level. It had one runway designated 08/26 with a concrete surface measuring . The airport is currently owned by its major airline partner Dniproavia. This has resulted in a number of management problems and has slowed the airfield's development as Dniproavia has, on a number of occasions, refused to be forthcoming with the required funds to undertake a comprehensive modernization program. City of regional significance ( uk, місто обласного значення, ''misto oblasnoho znachennia'') in Ukraine was a type of second-level administrative division or municipality, the other type being raions (districts). In the first-level division of oblasts, they were referred to as ''cities of oblast significance''; in the first-level autonomous republic of Crimea, they were ''cities of republican significance''.
