Aveley, Western Australia
Aveley is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, east of Ellenbrook and south of The Vines. In 1897 George Hardey Barrett Lennard, grandson of Edward Pomeroy Barrett-Lennard, purchased a property in the area of which is now Aveley, naming it "Belhus" after his family's estate in Belhus, Essex, England. The name "Aveley", deriving from the eponymous town where the estate was located, was approved as a suburb name on 6 September 2006, before which the area was part of Ellenbrook. It is bordered by Gnangara Road and Lake Yakine to the south, a small part of West Swan Road, the Ellen Brook and Chateau Place to the east, The Broadway, Doig Road, and Cashman Avenue to the north, and Henley Brook Avenue to the west. The suburb is accessible from Henley Brook Avenue, The Promenade, Gnangara Road, and West Swan Road (via Millhouse Road). Perth
Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. Edward Pomeroy Barrett-Lennard
Edward Pomeroy Barrett-Lennard (19 June 1799 in England – 29 June 1878 in Upper Swan, Western Australia) was an early settler in the Guildford, Western Australia, Guildford area of Western Australia. He was the fifth son of Sir Thomas Barrett-Lennard, 1st Baronet, and Dorothy St. Aubyn. His paternal grandfather was the Baron_Dacre#Barons_Dacre,_first_creation_(1321), 17th Baron Dacre. Barrett-Lennard arrived at the Swan River Colony on board the on 23 August 1829 bringing with him six servants, farm animals, and equipment. He was allotted a relatively large grant of and quickly established a property in the virgin bushland in the West Swan Area near Guildford which he named ''St Leonard's''. In December 1829, the Lieutenant-Governor, James Stirling (Australian governor), James Stirling appointed him, along with five other prominent settlers, a Justice of the Peace. Aveley Secondary College
Aveley Secondary College is an Independent public co-educational high day school, located in the Perth suburb of Ellenbrook, just north of Aveley, Western Australia. Overview Large population growth in Ellenbrook and surrounding suburbs caused there to be a need for another secondary school in the Ellenbrook area in the early 2010's. The only other secondary school in the area was Ellenbrook Secondary College, which opened in 2007, and was predicted to have enrolment in excess of 2000 students if another school did not open in the area. In 2013, the state Liberal government promised to build a school in northern Ellenbrook by 2017. In December 2013, the opening date for the new school was revised to the start of 2018. In February 2018, Aveley Secondary College opened for Year 7 students, with each year increasing in the number of year groups until 2023, when the school will have its first Year 12's. Gnangara Road
Gnangara Road is an arterial east-west road in Perth, Western Australia. It is located within the northern suburbs of Perth, from Madeley in the west, to Henley Brook in the east. Gnangara Road provides a connection between Great Northern Highway (via West Swan Road) and Wanneroo Road. The construction of the Ocean Reef Road extension in 2011 altered the road network in the Landsdale area in Landsdale. The plans show Gnangara Road as discontinuous between Mirrabooka Avenue and Alexander Drive, with the Mirrabooka Avenue and Ocean Reef Road extensions linking the two sections. Following construction, those linking road sections were named as Gnangara Road, allowing the road to remain continuous. Aveley
Aveley is a town and former civil parish in the unitary authority of Thurrock in Essex, England, and forms one of the traditional Church of England parishes. Aveley is 16 miles (26.2 km) east of Charing Cross. In the 2021 United Kingdom census it had a population of 9,801. In 1931 the parish had a population of 2,003. Henley Brook, Western Australia
Henley Brook is an outer rural suburb of Perth, Western Australia, part of the Swan Valley wine region. The Ellen brook and Swan River meet in the northeastern corner of the suburb. This is also the farthest upstream Captain Stirling's 1827 exploration reached before deciding on the settlement site of the new colony in 1829.
