Autódromo de Tocancipá is a motor racing circuit located in Tocancipá, Cundinamarca, Colombia. It is the official headquarters of the 6 Hours of Bogotá, Campeonato Nacional de Automovilismo (CNA), and TC2000 Colombia. History Based on an idea launched in 1980, Autódromo de Tocancipá was inaugurated on 7 February 1982, two years after Autódromo Ricardo MejÃa was demolished. The record for the fastest average speed over a race lap was achieved by the Colombian Óscar Tunjo with a time of 1:01:262 and on average during the qualifying sessions of the 2014 edition. Tocancipá
Tocancipá () is a municipality and town of Colombia in the Central Savanna Province, part of the department of Cundinamarca. Tocancipá is situated in the northern part of the Bogotá savanna, part of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense in the Eastern Ranges of the Colombian Andes with the urban centre at an altitude of . The capital Bogotá, which metropolitan area includes Tocancipá, is to the south. 6 Hours Of Bogotá
The 6 Hours of Bogotá ( es, 6 Horas de Bogotá) is an automobile endurance race that is held annually in December at the Autódromo de Tocancipá, north of Bogotá, in the city's metropolitan area. It is the most prestigious endurance motorsport race in Colombia, it brings together national and international drivers and teams and has been held since 1986. It is held on the first Saturday of December each year. It is managed as an independent race, and the final race of the Campeonato Nacional de Automovilismo (CNA). History The race had its first edition in mid-1986 as a result of the idea of having a long-term race in the country. Its first edition was called the "Premio Wagner Cofre Motor" and it was held over one hundred laps, in the Tocancipá Circuit of 2040 meters. Autódromo Ricardo MejÃa was a motor racing circuit located in Bogotá, Colombia. The circuit was inaugurated on 7 February 1971 with the Gran Premio República de Colombia, the first track competition held in the country. It hosted various national and international speed and endurance championships, as well as hosting a round of the 1972 American Formula 2 season. Óscar Tunjo
Óscar Andrés Tunjo (born 5 January 1996) is a Colombian racing driver. Career Karting Born in Cali, Tunjo began his racing career in karting at the age of five in Colombian championships, collecting titles in various classes. In 2007 he moved to Europe, and competed in local karting series. Formula BMW Tunjo made his début in single-seaters in 2010 at the age of fourteen, taking part in the Formula BMW Pacific series for Meritus. He finished the season as runner-up to Richard Bradley with one win at the -support round, while also scoring another four podiums. Formula Renault Tunjo returned to Europe in 2011, competing for Josef Kaufmann Racing in both the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC, the latter on a part-time basis. He won the International F3000 championship in 1998, the CART FedEx Championship Series in 1999 in his debut year in the series, and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2019.
