Autumn Leaf Festival
The Allegheny Toyota Autumn Leaf Festival is a nine-day festival held annually in Clarion, Pennsylvania in the United States. It features food, events and entertainment such as carnival rides, Riverhill Battery Warehouse Power Wheels Derby, cultural nights, Clarion University's homecoming weekend and football game, and concerts. About 300,000 people attend annually. History This annual festival began in 1953 and became the first recognized Autumn Leaf Festival to be held during the Clarion State College homecoming. Businesses were asked to decorate to add color to the town. Ruth Neiger from Brockway served as Homecoming Queen that year. The following year, 1954, a larger festival was held to attract more people to the area. There were two parades. The first was held from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Clarion, Pennsylvania
Clarion is a borough in and the county seat of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located north-northeast of Pittsburgh and is part of the Pittsburgh DMA. Clarion was settled in 1839 and incorporated in 1841. In the past, the surrounding area produced natural gas, oil, lumber and coal. The population was 2,004 in 1900, 2,864 in 1910, and 3,931 at the 2020 census, down from 5,276 at the 2010 census. Brockway, PA
Brockway is a borough in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,072 at the 2010 census. History The community was laid out as "Brockwayville" in 1836. The borough was named for Alonzo and John S. Brockway, who came to the site in 1822. A post office called "Brockwayville" was established in 1829, and the name of the post office was changed to "Brockway" in 1925. The Brockwayville Passenger Depot, Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railroad was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The Brockway Glass Company Inc. was founded in 1907 in by the Brockway Machine Bottle Company (which later became Brockway Glass).
