Automotive Technology InMotion
InMotion is a student team focused on electric racing and fast charging. InMotion is based in Helmond and is composed mostly of students from the Eindhoven University of Technology and Fontys University of Applied Sciences. The team was founded in 2012 by Albert Maas under the guidance of Maarten Steinbuch. In 2017, the Fusion, the team’s first car, was built. The Fusion is an electric formula car and holds the electric lap record in Circuit Zandvoort, Circuit Zolder and TT Circuit Assen. After the Fusion, the team developed an endurance race car, the Vision. Currently the team is working on a new car, a Ginetta G58 (also known as LMP3 style), which has their Electric Refueling technology and is going to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in the Garage 56 class. Helmond
Helmond (; called ''Héllemond'' in the local dialect) is a city and municipality in the Metropoolregio Eindhoven of the province of North Brabant in the Southern Netherlands. Helmond is home to several textile and metal companies. The Vlisco factory is located next to the Zuid-Willemsvaart canal, which runs through the city. The spoken language is Helmonds (an East Brabantian dialect). Jan Lammers
Jan Lammers (Johannes Antonius Lammers, Zandvoort, 2 June 1956) is a racing driver from the Netherlands whose most notable claim to fame is victory in the 1988 Le Mans 24 Hours for Silk Cut Jaguar/ TWR, next to a four-season spell in Formula One in 1979-1982, driving for Shadow, ATS, Ensign and Theodore. This was followed by a comeback with March for two races in 1992, after a world-record time gap of ten years. Later in life, Lammers became a team owner as well, first setting up his own Formula Opel Lotus team, Vitaal Racing, winning the EFDA Opel Lotus Euroseries with Peter Kox in 1989, then creating the Racing for Holland outfit that raced in sportscars in 2001-2007. Diffuser (automotive)
A diffuser, in an automotive context, is a shaped section of the car rear which improves the car's aerodynamic properties by enhancing the transition between the high-velocity airflow underneath the car and the much slower freestream airflow of the ambient atmosphere. It works by providing a space for the underbody airflow to decelerate and expand (in volume, as density is assumed to be constant at the speeds that cars travel) so that it does not cause excessive flow separation and drag, by providing a degree of " wake infill" or more accurately, pressure recovery. The diffuser itself accelerates the flow in front of it, which helps generate downforce.
