Autolite 2100 Carburetor
Autolite 2100 carburetors were made from 1953 to 1973. They are a synchronous two venturi (barrel) design, meaning both venturii operate together. There are eight different sizes ranging from 190 cfm to 424 cfm. They are available with manual, electric, or automatic hot-air chokes. They incorporate a feature called Annular Fuel Discharge, which greatly reduces the likely-hood of hesitation and flat spots under acceleration. They use the standard Holley bolt pattern (same as Holley two barrels). Size is determined by the diameter of the venturi. This can be found cast into the float chamber side. Venturi Effect
The Venturi effect is the reduction in fluid pressure that results when a fluid flows through a constricted section (or choke) of a pipe. The Venturi effect is named after its discoverer, the 18th century Italian physicist, Giovanni Battista Venturi. Background In inviscid fluid dynamics, an incompressible fluid's velocity must ''increase'' as it passes through a constriction in accord with the principle of mass continuity, while its static pressure must ''decrease'' in accord with the principle of conservation of mechanical energy (Bernoulli's principle). Flat Spot (automobile)
A flat spot, or wheel flat, also called spalling or shelling, is a fault in railroad wheel shape. A flat spot occurs when a rail vehicle's wheelset is dragged along the rail after the wheel/axle has stopped rotating. Flat spots are usually caused by use of the emergency brake, or slip and slide conditions that causes wheels to lock up while the train is still moving. Flat spots are more common in the autumn and winter when the rails are slippery. Flat spots can also be caused by faulty brakes or wheelset bearings. Consequences If the flat spot is very small, the rail vehicle will be able to continue being used. The fault is removed later in the wheelset turning process, using a wheel lathe. Holley Performance Products
Holley Performance Products is an automotive performance company based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It was founded in 1896 in Bradford, Pennsylvania by George Holley and Earl Holley. When the company was based in Michigan it was a major producer of carburetors for many Detroit-built automobiles.
