Austria Women's National Cricket Team
The Austria national women's cricket team is the team that represents Austria in international women's cricket. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. Therefore, all Twenty20 matches played between Austria women and other ICC members since 1 July 2018 have been a full WT20I. The team played its first WT20I matches at the 2019 France Women's T20I Quadrangular Series, in July and August 2019, in Nantes. Austrian Cricket Association
The Austrian Cricket Association (Österreichischer Cricket Verband) is the national governing body of cricket in Austria. It was founded in 1981 by Kerry Tattersall as the Austrian Cricketers Association, following the re-introduction of cricket to Austria in 1975 with the founding of Vienna Cricket Club – as ''1. Vienna Cricket Verein''. Cricket was recorded as being played in Vienna as far back as the 1890s, traditionally by gardeners of mercantile families. During the post-war occupation of Austria, cricket was also played by allied forces members. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. Andrea-Mae Zepeda
Andrea-Mae Zepeda (born 24 October 1995) is an Austrian cricketer and medical doctor. She plays for her national cricket team as an all-rounder. In 2019, she captained the team in its first ever Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I). In 2021, she became the first player to score a century for Austria in a WT20I. In January 2022, Zepeda was named as the ICC Women's Associate Cricketer of the Year by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Early life and career Zepeda recalls that when she was 7 years old, she had a cricket lesson at school. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. The 2019 France Women's T20I Quadrangular Series was a women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament held in Nantes, France, from 31 July to 3 August. The participants were the women's national sides of France, Austria, Jersey and Norway.
