It represents the country in international under-16 basketball competitions. In 1970s, the team participated four times at the European Championship for Cadets. They won a bronze medal at the 2018 FIBA U16 European Championship Division C. FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup
The FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup (formerly FIBA Under-17 World Championship) is the under-17 men's world basketball championship organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The event was held for the first time in July 2010, and is held biennially. The team is controlled and organised by Basketball Austria. Austria has competed at the EuroBasket six times throughout their history. Their best performance overall came at the 1951 tournament. However, the team is still seeking qualification to their first appearance on to the global stage at the FIBA World Cup.
