Austria participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Amen" written by Tobias Carshey, Ashley Hicklin and Jonas Thander. The song was performed by Vincent Bueno. On 26 March 2020, the Austrian broadcaster Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF) announced that they had internally selected Vincent Bueno to compete at the 2022 contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands after he was due to compete in the 2020 contest with "Alive" before the event's cancellation, while "Amen" was presented to the public on 10 March 2021. Austria was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 20 May 2021. Performing during the show in position 5, "Amen" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Vincent Mendoza Bueno (born 10 December 1985) is an Austrian singer of Filipino descent. On 12 January 2008, he became the winner of the ORF (broadcaster), ORF programme, ''Musical! Die Show'' (''Musical! The Show''), an Austrian television musical contest. He also served as a support act for Filipino singer Sarah Geronimo's concert in Vienna. On 18 January 2008, Bueno told the Philippine media of his plans to debut in the Philippines. He then made his first performance in Philippine Television on ASAP (variety show), ''ASAP XV'' on 29 August 2010. Austria participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Loin d'ici" written by Zoë Straub and Christof Straub. The song was performed by Zoë. The Austrian broadcaster Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF) organised the national final ''Wer singt für Österreich?'' in order to select the Austrian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Ten songs competed in a televised show where a jury panel and a public vote first selected the top two entries to proceed to a second round of voting. Drew Sarich (born August 24, 1975) is an American stage actor and singer songwriter from St. Louis, who performes in the English and German languages. Gabriela Horn (born 25 January 1988), known professionally as Paenda (pronounced "panda"; stylised as Pænda and in all caps), is an Austrian singer, songwriter and music producer. Andreas "Andi" Knoll (born 11 June 1972 in Innsbruck) is an Austrian radio and television presenter. He is Austria's commentator at the Eurovision Song Contest each year.
