The Australian cricket team toured England in the 1989 season to play a six-match Test series against England. The tour also included matches in Wales, Scotland, the Netherlands and Denmark. Australia National Cricket Team
The Australia men's national cricket team represents Australia in men's international cricket. Mervyn Gregory Hughes (born 23 November 1961) is a former Australian cricketer. A right-arm fast bowler, he represented Australia national cricket team, Australia in 53 Test cricket, Test matches between 1985 and 1994, taking 212 wickets. He played 33 One Day Internationals, taking 38 wickets. He took a Hat-trick (cricket), hat-trick in a Test against the West Indies cricket team, West Indies at the WACA Ground, WACA in 1988–89. Edgbaston Cricket Ground, also known as the County Ground or Edgbaston Stadium, is a cricket ground in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham, England. Tim Zoehrer
Timothy Joseph Zoehrer (born 25 September 1961) is a former Australian cricket player. He played as a wicket-keeper and is of Austrian descent. He began his career in the 1980–81 season with Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield as an understudy to Rod Marsh. After Marsh's retirement he became the number one state keeper and eventually the Australian Test keeper. He played ten Test matches between 1986 and 1987 when Australia were far from the top team in the world, touring New Zealand and India. He also played 22 One Day Internationals. Michael Robert John Veletta (born 30 October 1963) is a former Australian cricketer. He played in eight Test matches and 20 One Day Internationals between 1987 and 1990. He played 127 first-class matches including 114 Sheffield Shield matches, and 41 domestic one-day matches for Western Australia. Veletta was a part of the Australian team that won their first world title during the 1987 Cricket World Cup. Mark Taylor (cricketer)
Mark Anthony Taylor (born 27 October 1964) is a former Australian cricketer and current Nine Network commentator. He was Test opening batsman from 1988 to 1999, as well as captain from 1994 to 1999, succeeding Allan Border. His predominant fielding position was first slip. He was widely regarded as an instrumental component in Australia's rise to Test cricket dominance, and his captaincy was regarded as adventurous and highly effective. However, he was considered less than ideal for One-Day International cricket and was eventually dropped as one-day captain after a 0–3 drubbing at the hands of England in 1997. Thomas Masson Moody (born 2 October 1965) is a former Australian international cricketer and current Director of Cricket of Sri Lanka Cricket.
