Australian Women's Twenty20 Cup
The Australian Women's Twenty20 Cup (WT20) was the premier domestic women's Twenty20, Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. Beginning in 2007 as a series of exhibition matches, the first official tournament took place during the summer of 2009–10. All seven state and territory representative teams from its Limited overs cricket, 50-over counterpart, the pre-existing Women's National Cricket League, participated in the WT20's formal six-year span. The competition was replaced by the Women's Big Bash League in 2015. The Victoria women's cricket team, Victorian Spirit were the most successful team, having managed to claim three titles in a row. The New South Wales Breakers finished on top of the ladder at the conclusion of every regular season, but they lost three consecutive championship deciders against Victoria before eventually winning two titles of their own. Cricket Australia (CA), formerly known as the Australian Cricket Board (ACB), is the governing body for professional and amateur cricket in Australia. The Western Australia Women cricket team, previously known as Western Fury, is the women's representative cricket team for the Australian State of Western Australia. They play their home games at WACA West Ground, Perth. They compete in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL), the premier 50-over women's cricket tournament in Australia. Bellerive Oval, known commercially as Blundstone Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a cricket and Australian rules football ground located in Bellerive, a suburb on the eastern shore of Hobart, Australia, holding 20,000 people it is the largest capacity stadium in Tasmania. It is the only venue in Tasmania which hosts international cricket matches.
