Australian National University Students' Association is the students' union of the Australian National University (ANU). It is better known by its acronym, ANUSA. ANUSA acts as a representative body for the undergraduate students of the Australian National University, while also providing a number of goods and services to those students. Not to be confused with ANU Union, a not-for-profit association that once managed retail operations in the former ANU Union Building. The Postgraduate and Research Students' Association acts in an equal capacity to ANUSA at the Australian National University as a representative body for graduate students. Lesley Ward
Lesley Ann Ward is an Australian mathematician specializing in harmonic analysis, complex analysis, and industrial applications of mathematics. She is a professor in the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences of the University of South Australia, director of the Mathematics Clinic at the university, and former chair of the Women in Mathematics Group of the Australian Mathematical Society. Education and career Ward earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics with first class honours from Australian National University (ANU) in 1987; at ANU, she served as president of the Students' Association for 1984–1985. British India (band)
British India are an Australian rock band from Melbourne. The band is made up of lead vocalist and guitarist Declan Melia, guitarist Nic Wilson, bassist Will Drummond and drummer Matt O'Gorman. In 2019, Jack Tosi replaced Nic Wilson as a touring member of the band. They have released six studio albums. History Formation and Early Shows 2003 - 2006 The members of British India met in 2003 in high school at St. Bede's College, in Melbourne, Victoria. The band began rehearsing and writing songs in the pool room at drummer Matt O'Gorman's parent's house. Early influences included The Strokes, The White Stripes, The Datsuns, and Interpol. Bluejuice was an Australian band based in Sydney, active between 2000 and 2014. The group's final line-up consisted of lead vocalist Jake Stone, backing vocalist Stavros Yiannoukas, bassist Jamie Cibej and drummer James Hauptmann. The band released three studio albums ''Problems'', ''Head of the Hawk'' and ''Company'' as well as a greatest hits album in 2014. Rüfüs Du Sol
Rüfüs Du Sol, stylised as RÜFÜS DU SOL and formerly known as simply Rüfüs (stylized RÜFÜS) from 2010 to 2018, is an Australian alternative dance group from Sydney, that consists of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt. Their debut album ''Atlas'' peaked at number one in Australia, while their second album '' Bloom'' debuted atop the Australian albums chart in early 2016. Their single " You Were Right" won the ARIA Award for Best Dance Release in 2015. Miami Horror
Miami Horror are an Australian electronic music group from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Benjamin Plant, the producer and DJ, formed Miami Horror initially as a solo project. In addition to Plant, the band features Daniel Whitechurch (keyboards), and currently Rhythm Luna (drums), while featuring different vocalists and guitar players including Reva Devito (vocals), TC Milan of Crush Club (vocals), Nicolas Mulhall of Queen Magic (guitar), and Tom Frazer (guitar). Kimbra Lee Johnson (born 27 March 1990), known mononymously as Kimbra, is a New Zealand singer and songwriter. Known for mixing pop with R&B, jazz and rock musical elements, her accolades include four ARIA Music Awards, two Grammy Awards and seven New Zealand Music Awards. The Presets are an Australian electronic music duo of Julian Hamilton (vocals, keyboards) and Kim Moyes (drums, keyboards). Formed in 2003 and signed to Modular Recordings, Modular Records, The Presets released two EPs (''Blow Up (EP), Blow Up'', ''Girl and the Sea'') in advance of their debut album, ''Beams (The Presets album), Beams'', released in 2005 to positive critical response. Richard Refshauge
Richard Christopher Refshauge (born 1947) is a former Australian judge. Early life Refshauge was born in 1947, the son of Major General Sir William Refshauge and his wife Helen (née Allwright). One brother is Andrew Refshauge, Andrew, who went on to become Deputy Premier of New South Wales. He was educated at the Australian National University, graduating BA (Hons) in 1972 and LLB in 1975. He was president of the Australian National University Students' Association in 1972. Career Refshauge worked for Canberra law firm Macphillamy Cummins & Gibson from 1976, becoming a partner in 1981 and the senior partner in 1992. The firm merged with Sly & Weigall in 1994 which then changed its name to Deacons (law firm), Deacons Graham & James in 1995 (subsequently acquired by Norton Rose FulbNorton Rose). John Yocklunn
Sir John Soong Chung Yocklunn (5 May 1933 – 7 April 2016) was a public servant who was National Librarian of Papua New Guinea during the 1970s. Early life and education Yocklunn was born in China and arrived in Australia as a child. He attended Perth Modern School and later Northam Senior High School. During the mid 1960s, Yocklunn served as president of the student association at the Australian National University. In 1974 Yocklunn graduated with a master's degree in arts (MA) from the University of Sheffield.
