The Australian Academy of Law (AAL) is a permanent, non-government organisation devoted to the advancement of the discipline of law. According to its Constitution, the Australian Academy of Law comprises individuals of exceptional distinction from all parts of the legal community, including academia, the practising profession (including private and public sector lawyers), and the judiciary. The Academy is registered under the ''Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act'' 2012 (Cth). The Academy is a Deductible Gift Recipient, specifically listed in Division 30 of the ''Income Tax Assessment Act 1997'' (Cth). Australian Law Reform Commission
The Australian Law Reform Commission (often abbreviated to ALRC) is an Australian independent statutory body established to conduct reviews into the law of Australia. The reviews, also called inquiries or references, are referred to the ALRC by the Attorney-General for Australia. Based on its research and consultations throughout an inquiry, the ALRC makes recommendations to government so that government can make informed decisions about law reform. The ALRC is part of the Attorney-General's portfolio; however it is an independent statutory authority constituted under the ''Australian Law Reform Commission Act 1996'' (Cth), and the ''Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013'' (PGPA Act). Melissa Perry
Melissa Anne Perry is a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia. Early life and education Perry attended Walford Anglican School for Girls. Perry then graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Laws with first class Honours. A fellow is a concept whose exact meaning depends on context. In learned or professional societies, it refers to a privileged member who is specially elected in recognition of their work and achievements. Margaret White (judge)
Margaret Jean White (born 4 June 1943) is a former Supreme Court of Queensland justicethe first woman to sit on the Supreme Court of Queensland. White was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1992 and was elevated to an Appeals Court Justice in 2010 until retirement in 2013. She has also previously served as a law lecturer at the University of Queensland. Mark Weinberg (judge)
Mark Samuel Weinberg (born 13 May 1948) is a former judge of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria from July 2008 to May 2018. He is a former judge of the Federal Court of Australia who served from July 1998 to July 2008. Early life Weinberg was born in Sweden and lived in the United States until the age of 10, when he and his family moved to Melbourne. Louis Waller
Peter Louis Waller (10 February 1935 – 8 October 2019) was an Australian jurist. He was particularly well known for his work in evidence, medical and criminal law. He was Sir Leo Cussen Professor of Law at Monash University from 1965 until 2000, and thereafter Emeritus Professor. From 1968 to 1970 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Monash University.
