The Australia women's national under-23 soccer team represents Australia in international under-23 soccer and at the AFF Women's Championship. Although the first governing body of the sport was founded in 1911, Football Australia in its current form was only established in 1961 as the Australian Soccer Federation. The Chicago Red Stars are a professional women's soccer club based in Bridgeview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. A founding member of the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league, they have played in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) since 2013. The Blacktown Spartans Football Club are an Australian semi-professional association football club currently playing in the NSW Premier League, the top tier of association football in New South Wales and the 2nd tier including the fully professional top tier, the A-League. The Stanford Cardinal women's soccer team represent Stanford University in the Pac-12 Conference of NCAA Division I soccer. Home games are played at Laird Q.
