Australia Men's National Soccer B Team
Australia B is a secondary soccer team occasionally as support for the Australia national soccer team. The team has only ever played nine matches; winning one, drawing six, and losing two. It has been inactive since 1985. Concept and history The national B team was designed to give games to players who were being considered for call-up to the full national squad. Generally, the team played in friendly matches against other international B teams or club sides. Australia B were one of several teams which entered a "World Series" held in Australia in 1984, which included Rangers, Juventus, Australia A, Nottingham Forest and Iraklis. They were coached in the tournament by Eddie Thomson In 1985, Australia B played two games against China in the leadup to the 1987 Ampol Cup between China and Australia. Football Australia is the governing body of soccer, futsal, and beach soccer within Australia, headquartered in Sydney. Although the first governing body of the sport was founded in 1911, Football Australia in its current form was only established in 1961 as the Australian Soccer Federation. It was later reconstituted in 2003 as the Australian Soccer Association before adopting the name of Football Federation Australia in 2005. In contemporary identification, a corporate decision was undertaken to institute that name to deliver a "more united football" in a deliberation from the current CEO, James Johnson. The name was changed to Football Australia in December 2020. Hindmarsh Stadium
Hindmarsh Stadium (currently known as Coopers Stadium due to sponsorship from Adelaide-based company Coopers Brewery) is a multi-purpose stadium in Hindmarsh, an inner western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is the home of the Australian A-League team, Adelaide United. John McClelland (footballer, Born 1955)
John McClelland (born 7 December 1955) is a former Northern Ireland international footballer who played for several teams during a 23-year career. He worked for Leeds United as part of the tour groups for Elland Road. Club career McClelland played for Portadown, Cardiff City, Bangor City (he was Welsh Cup runner up with both of these clubs), and Mansfield Town, before signing for Rangers for £90,000 in June 1981. There he won two Scottish League Cup winner's medals, and was twice a Scottish Cup runner up. In November 1984 Watford paid £225,000 for his services. During his five years at Vicarage Road he was voted Watford Player of the Season twice. Tom McCulloch (born 10 February 1964) is an Australian former soccer player and coach. McCulloch played at both professional and international levels as a defender. Career Playing career McCulloch played club football for Marconi Stallions, APIA Leichhardt and Sydney City. His is Marconi's all-time NSL appearance holder. He also made 14 official international appearances for Australia, scoring one goal, between 1985 and 1992. He had previously competed at the 1983 FIFA World Youth Championship. Sandy Clark
Alexander "Sandy" Clark (born 28 October 1956) is a Scottish professional football manager and former player who is currently manager of Lowland League side East Stirlingshire. Career Clark played for several clubs in his playing career including his home town club Airdrieonians, Rangers, Heart of Midlothian (Hearts) and West Ham United. Charlie Egan
Charles Egan (born 14 August 1959) is a former Australian international football player of Scottish heritage. He played in Scotland early in his career but moved to Australia to play for Frankston City in the Victorian State League. In 1981 Charlie Egan won the Victorian Rothmans Medal for being the Victorian State League Soccer Player of the Year. He scored 25 votes while playing for Frankston City that year, 2 ahead of Nelson from Sunshine.
