It is located on the southeast side of the island of Haramsøya, about southwest of the village of Longva via the Ullasund Bridge. The Ulla lighthouse is located about to the north of Austnes. Haram Church
Haram Church ( no, Haram kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Austnes on the island of Haramsøya. It is one of the churches for the ''Haram og Fjørtoft'' parish which is part of the Nordre Sunnmøre prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in an octagonal design in 1838 using plans drawn up by the parish priest Peder Thomas Buschmann. The church seats about 240 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to 1432, but it was not new at that time. The first Haram Church was a wooden stave church that was located on the west coast of the island of Haramsøya, about northwest of the present church site. Haramsøya is an island in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is located between the islands of Lepsøya and Flemsøya, just northwest of the mainland. Lepsøya
Lepsøya (or ''Løvsøya'') is a populated island in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island in the northern part of the municipality. It is located in the ocean in the northwestern part of the municipality, with the Haramsfjorden and the island of Haramsøya to the northeast; the Vigrafjorden and the island of Vigra (in Giske Municipality) to the southwest; and the islands of Bjørnøya and Terøya along with the mainland to the southeast. In 2015, the population of the island was 313. Most of the population lives on the southeastern side of the island. Nordøyvegen () is a road that connect the northern islands of Ålesund (formerly in Haram Municipality and Sandøy Municipality) to the mainland in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. This road was opened in 2022 and replaced several ferry crossings and costed around . It provides a faster, ferry-free connection to the mainland for the approximately 3,000 residents of the islands. The road is partly financed by a toll station at the Lepsøy, as of 2022 costing 219 NOK per direction for cars. The project includes crossing four fjords with tunnels and bridges and upgrading and re-routing roads on the islands to meet national standards. A total of seven islands is connected to the mainland using two existing bridges and by building three new bridges, a causeway using fill, and three undersea tunnels. Ullasund Bridge
The Ullasund Bridge ( no, Ullasundbrua) is a bridge that crosses the Ullasundet strait between the islands of Haramsøya and Flemsøya in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The original bridge was opened in 1969. The Ulla lighthouse is located just northwest of the eastern end of the bridge. Many bridges need to be repaired because the salt in the seawater damages the concrete and the iron inside it. The old Ullasund Bridge actually had to be taken down, because it was too damaged.
