Austin Smotherman
Austin Smotherman (born May 19, 1994) is an American professional golfer. He played collegiate golf at Southern Methodist University and currently plays on the PGA Tour. He won the 2021 Simmons Bank Open on the Korn Ferry Tour. Career Smotherman, a college teammate of Bryson DeChambeau at SMU, turned pro in 2016. Playing on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, he won the 2018 Mexican Open and finished fourth in the tour's Order of Merit, which guaranteed partial status on the Web.com Tour in 2019. In 2020, he held the 36-hole lead at the TPC San Antonio Championship before finishing solo fourth. Smotherman earned his first Korn Ferry Tour victory at the 2021 Simmons Bank Open, going wire-to-wire and winning by three strokes. Loomis, California
Loomis (formerly, Pine, Pino, Smithville, and Placer) is an incorporated town in Placer County, California, United States. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade– Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town's population was reported as 6,836 in the 2020 United States Census. It shares borders with the city of Rocklin and the Census-Designated Places Penryn and Granite Bay. History The Placer post office opened on the site in 1861, changed its name to Smithville in 1862, then changed it to Pino in 1869, and in 1890 the Southern Pacific Railroad finally decided on Loomis. The railroad and Post Office found that Pino was confused with the town of Reno, hence the name change to Loomis. The name Smithville honors L.G. 2020–21 Korn Ferry Tour
The 2020–21 Korn Ferry Tour was the 31st season of the top developmental tour for the PGA Tour in men's golf, and the second under the current sponsored name of Korn Ferry Tour. Originally scheduled to run from January 12 to August 30, it was announced in early May 2020 that due to disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that the in-progress and on-hold 2020 season would be merged with the planned 2021 season. With the season having been extended through 2021, there were no graduates to the PGA Tour for the 2020–21 season. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was no graduating class in 2020, and the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour season extended into 2021. The Players Championship
The Players Championship (commonly known as simply The Players, stylized by the PGA Tour as The PLAYERS Championship) is an annual golf tournament on the PGA Tour. Originally known as the Tournament Players Championship, it began in 1974. The Players Championship at one point offered the highest purse of any tournament in golf ($20 million). The field usually includes the top 50 players in the world rankings, but unlike the major championships and World Golf Championships events, it is owned by the PGA Tour and not an official event on other tours. The Mexican Open ( es, Abierto Mexicano de Golf), also known as the Mexico Open and Abierto Mexicano de Golf, is the national open golf tournament of Mexico. History First played in 1944 at the Club de Golf Chapultepec, it was an event on the Tour de las Américas between 2003 and 2006, being co-sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour from 2004 to 2006. The 2018 PGA Tour Latinoamérica was the seventh season of PGA Tour Latinoamérica. PGA Tour Latinoamérica was operated and run by the PGA Tour. The season began in March at the Stella Artois Open in Antigua, Guatemala and concluded in December at the Shell Championship at Trump National Doral Miami, marking the return of a PGA Tour-sanctioned event to the Miami resort that hosted events from 1962 to 2016.
