Austin College UNE
Austin College is a college at the University of New England, Armidale, NSW, Australia. It is the second youngest of the established colleges, opening as an all girls college in 1972 . It proceeded to change to a co-ed tertiary residential college, which it remains to this day. It has the capacity to house 288 students at any one time during the year. It caters for both internal and external students and serves as residency for many travelling university and school sporting teams. Austin has a range of facilities including a common room and kitchenette on every floor, a licensed bar, music room, exercise room, a large common room, bike shed, laundries and a large dining hall. All rooms are centrally heated and have ethernet, NBN, phone and TV aerial connections. The University of New England (UNE) is a public university in Australia with approximately 22,500 higher education students. Its original and main campus is located in the city of Armidale in northern central New South Wales. UNE was the first Australian university established outside a state capital city. New England is a vaguely defined region in the north of the state of New South Wales, Australia, about 60 km inland from the Tasman Sea. Armidale
Armidale is a city in the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. Armidale had a population of 24,504 as of June 2018. Estimated resident population, 30 June 2018. It is the administrative centre for the Northern Tablelands region. It is approximately halfway between Sydney and Brisbane at the junction of the New England Highway and Waterfall Way. Geography Armidale is on the banks of Dumaresq Creek, in the Northern Tablelands in the New England region about midway between Sydney and Brisbane at an altitude (980 m AHD) ranging from 970 metres at the valley's floor to 1,110 metres above sea level at the crests of the hills.
