Odysseus

Calypso (mythology)
In Greek mythology, Calypso (; grc-gre, Καλυψώ, "she who conceals") was a nymph who lived on the island of Ogygia, where, according to Homer's ''Odyssey'', she detained Odysseus for seven years. She promised Odysseus immortality if he would stay with her, but Odysseus preferred to return home. Etymology The name "Calypso" may derive from the Ancient Greek (), meaning "to cover", "to conceal", or "to hide". Ausones
"Ausones" (; ), the original Greek form for the Latin "Aurunci", was a name applied by Greek writers to describe various Italic peoples inhabiting the southern and central regions of Italy. The term was used, specifically, to denote the particular tribe which Livy called the Aurunci, but later it was applied to all Italians, and Ausonia became a poetic term, in Greek and Latin, for Italy itself. Usage The usage, by ancient writers, in regard to national appellations is very vague and fluctuating, perhaps in no instance more so than in the case of the Ausones or Ausonians. As synonymous with "Aurunci" Originally "Aurunci" was the appellation given by the Romans to the people called "Ausones" by the Greeks: indeed, the two names are merely different forms of the same, as the letter "r" was a common variation for "s" in Latin (Aurunci = Auronici = Auruni = Ausuni). Ausonia, Lazio
Ausonia is a town and ''comune'' in southern Lazio, central Italy. It takes its name from the Ausones/Aurunci, whose ancient town Ausona (ancient city), Ausona (member of the Auruncan Pentapolis), located nearby, was destroyed by the ancient Rome, Romans in 314 BC. In the Middle Ages it was known as Fratte. Ausonia is located near the border between Lazio and Campania, in a valley between the Monti Aurunci and the Mainarde. Liparus (mythology)
In Greek mythology, Liparus (Ancient Greek Λίπαρος Líparos) is an Ausonian king and founder of the city of Lipari on the island of the same name. According to Diodorus Siculus, he was the son of King Ausonus. Driven out of Italy by his brothers, he fled to the island of Lipari, and founded the city of Lipari, named after him. Later, Aiolos, the son of Hippotes, settled on the island and married Liparus' daughter Cyane. Lipara
Lipari (; scn, Lìpari) is the largest of the Aeolian Islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily, southern Italy; it is also the name of the island's main town and ''comune'', which is administratively part of the Metropolitan City of Messina.
