Oskar Braun
Oskar Braun (1862-1931) was a Syriac specialist and ordained Catholic priest. He was born in Dillingen an der Donau in 1862 and was ordained as a priest in 1885, becoming chaplain at Santa Maria dell’Anima. He studied languages with Ignazio Guidi while in Rome, and obtained a doctoral degree from the University of Munich in 1890. He worked as a professor of Semitic languages at the University of Würzburg from 1894, and of patristics from 1907 until his retirement in 1927. His work ''Ausgewählte Akten Persischer Märtyrer'' ("Selected Acts of Persian Martyrs"), published in 1915, is still cited by scholars today. Kempten
Kempten (, (Swabian German: )) is the largest Town#Germany, town of Allgäu, in Swabia (Bavaria), Swabia, Bavaria, Germany. The population was about 68,000 in 2016. The area was possibly settled originally by Celts, but was later taken over by the Ancient Rome, Romans, who called the town ''Cambodunum''. Kempten is the oldest urban settlement (town) in Germany. Pusai (?- Good Friday, 344) was a Christian priest and companion in martyrdom with Simeon Barsabae and others. Simon Of Bet-Titta
Simon of Bet-Titta (died 447) was a Christian martyr at Bet-Titta, near Karka in Mesopotamia. He was martyred with several colleagues, including Abraham of Bet-Titta and Ma'na of Bet-Titta. Their eyes were pierced with red-hot nails, and later they were shot with arrows, on 27 August 447. Frederick George Holweck
Frederick George Holweck (born Friedrich Georg Holweck; 29 December 1856 – 15 February 1927) was a German-American Catholic parish priest and scholar, hagiographer and church historian. Monsignor Holweck contributed some articles to the ''Catholic Encyclopedia''. As rector of St. Francis de Sales Church in St. Louis, Missouri, he was tasked with rebuilding the church after the original was destroyed by the Great St. Louis Tornado of 1896. The second edifice, incorporating many of the characteristics of German ecclesiastical architecture is familiarly known as "the Cathedral of South St. Louis." He also served as vicar-general of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Life Frederick George Holweck was born in Wiesloch, Baden, on 29 December 1856, the son of Sebastian and Mary E. Holweck.
