Aurelio Craffonara
Aurelio Craffonara (September 9, 1875 – February 5, 1945) was an Italian painter and illustrator. Biography Born in Gallarate, he was the nephew of the painter Giuseppe Craffonara of Trento. He moved to Genoa as a boy of 10 years, and trained at the Accademia Ligustica of Fine Arts under Tammar Luxoro. He completed illustrations for posters and publications, including for a satirical periodical under the pseudonym ''Lelo''. He collaborated with Giuseppe Sacheri, Plinio Nomellini, and Dario Bardinero in decorating the site of the Banco di Chiavari e della Riviera Ligure Banco di Chiavari e della Riviera Ligure (BCRL) was an Italian regional bank based in Chiavari, Liguria. it was acquired and absorbed into Banca Popolare di Lodi in 2003. Gallarate
Gallarate (; Lombard: ''Galaraa'') is a city and ''comune'' of Alto Milanese of Lombardy and of Milan metropolitan area, northern Italy, in the Province of Varese. Giuseppe Craffonara
Giuseppe Craffonara (September 7, 1790 – August 12, 1837) was an Italian painter originally from Val Badia. Biography He was instructed by the painter Pietro Cannella from a young age. After having studied at the Verona Academy of Painting, in 1816 he arrived at the Accademia di San Luca, Academy of Saint Luke in Rome, where he remained until 1830. During the Roman period he was active in the contemporary laboratory at the Chiaramonti Gallery in the Vatican Museums. Between 1824 and 1830 he made numerous trips from Rome, linked to subsequent commissions received in Trentino. The first Trentino commission is the San Vigilio in Gloria for the parish of Stenico, built in 1825. There are also many private commissions mainly linked to the image of the Madonna. Plinio Nomellini (1866–1943) was an Italian painter. Biography Nomellini was born in Livorno in 1866. In 1885 he enrolled at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Giovanni Fattori and formed friendships with Telemaco Signorini and Silvestro Lega as well as Giuseppe Pellizza some time later.
