Aure (village)
Aure is the administrative centre of Aure Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located on the mainland, along the Aursundet strait. The village has a population (2018) of 653 and a population density of . The village looks across the strait at the small islands of Ruøya and Rottøya and the large island of Ertvågsøya beyond those two islands. The river Aurelva runs through the village and empties into the sea. The Aursund Bridge and Mjosund Bridge form a road connection from the village of Aure to the island of Ertvågsøya. Møre Og Romsdal
Møre og Romsdal (; en, Møre and Romsdal) is a county in the northernmost part of Western Norway. It borders the counties of Trøndelag, Innlandet, and Vestland. The county administration is located in the town of Molde, while Ålesund is the largest town. Aure Church
Aure Church ( no, Aure kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Aure Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Aure. It is the church for the Aure parish which is part of the Ytre Nordmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform style in 1924 by the architect Nils Ryjord. The church seats about 800 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1432, but the church was not new that year. The first church in Aure was a wooden stave church on a site about northeast of the present-day church site. The church may have been first established here during the 10th century. Ertvågsøya
Ertvågsøya is an island in the municipality of Aure, Norway, Aure in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island has an area of and the highest point is the tall Korsbekkfjellet. The small islands of Rottøya and Ruøya lie to the east of the island and the islands of Solskjelsøya and Stabblandet lie to the west. The Arasvikfjorden strait runs along the south side of the island and the Gjerdevika, an arm of the Edøyfjorden passes along the north side of the island. The island is nearly bisected by the Foldfjorden, a narrow bay reaching south into the central part of the island. The island is connected to the mainland by the Mjosund Bridge and Aursund Bridge.
