Aurangzeb Chowdhury
Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury, (G), NBP, OSP, BCGM, PCGM, BCGMS, ndc, psc, BN, (born 28 September 1959) is a former four star Admiral of Bangladesh and the former Chief of Staff of the Bangladesh Navy. Previously, he held the post of Director General of the Bangladesh Coast Guard. Early life Abu Mozaffar Mohiuddin Mohammed Aurangzeb Chowdhury was born on 28 September 1959. He received his commission into the Bangladesh Navy in 1980. Career He has held a number of positions in the Bangladesh Navy. He was commanding officer of a frigate, among other ships. He served as the Commandant of the Bangladesh Marine Academy from November 2008 to March 2009. He served as the Commodore Superintendent Dockyard from October 2009 to December 2010. Admiral ( bn, এ্যাডমিরাল, Admiral) is a four-star commissioned naval flag officer rank in the Bangladesh Navy. It is the highest achieved rank in the Bangladesh Navy. Admiral ranks above the three-star rank of Vice Admiral. The rank is denoted as a full-fledged Admiral to extricate subordinate officers like Vice Admiral and Rear Admiral. Marine Fisheries Academy (MFA) known as Bangladesh Marine Fisheries Academy (BMFA) is a government-run training institution in Bangladesh for cadets wishing to enter the fishing industry, merchant shipping and other related maritime industries. Established in 1973, it is the only national organization offering training for these professions. Marine Fisheries Academy is affiliated with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh (BSMRMU). The Bangladesh Coast Guard ( bn, বাংলাদেশ কোস্ট গার্ড; BCG) is the maritime law enforcement force of Bangladesh. It is a paramilitary force which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Its officers and sailors are transferred from Bangladesh Navy, and most of the medical officers are transferred from Bangladesh Army.
