Augusto Góngora
Augusto José Góngora Labbé (2 January 1952 – 19 May 2023) was a Chilean journalist, filmmaker and television presenter. After working in independent media during the military dictatorship in Chile, he went on to work for the country's national broadcaster, Televisión Nacional de Chile, from 1990 until 2010, primarily focusing on cultural programming. After leaving the channel, Góngora went on to serve on TVN's board of directors between 2016 and 2017. Career After completing high school at the Liceo de Aplicación in Santiago, Góngora went on to study journalism at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. During the military dictatorship under Augusto Pinochet, Góngora worked for independent media outlets that opposed the regime, including in 1976 serving as the editor of ''Solidaridad'', a magazine published by the Vicariate of Solidarity, a human rights organisation that offered support to victims of the Pinochet regime and their families. Raúl Ruiz (director)
Raúl Ernesto Ruiz Pino (french: Raoul Ruiz; 25 July 1941 – 19 August 2011) was an experimental Chilean filmmaker, writer and teacher whose work is best known in France. He directed more than 100 films. Biography The son of a ship's captain and a schoolteacher in southern Chile, Raúl Ruiz abandoned his university studies in theology and law to write 100 plays with the support of a Rockefeller Foundation grant. He went on to learn his craft working in Chilean and Mexican television and studying at film school in Argentina (1964). Back in Chile, he made his feature debut ''Three Sad Tigers'' (1968), sharing the Golden Leopard at the 1969 Locarno Film Festival. According to Ruiz in a 1991 interview, ''Three Sad Tigers'' "is a film without a story, it is the reverse of a story. Somebody kills somebody. The Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral (GAM) (formerly known as the Diego Portales Building) is a cultural center located on 227 Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins, in Santiago de Chile. The complex was originally built to serve as the headquarters for the third UNCTAD conference, which was held in Santiago in 1972, and consisted of a convention center and an adjoining 22-stories building. The building was finished in only 275 days in a significant effort supported by several thousand volunteers. This effort was part of a major propaganda initiative performed by the socialist government of Salvador Allende, in power between the end of 1970 and September 1973 .After the conference, the building was used as a cultural center until the 1973 Chilean coup d'état. Sopor is a condition of abnormally deep sleep or a stupor from which it is difficult to rouse a person.
