Augustin Călin (born 5 August 1973) is a retired Romanian football (soccer), football player. Player career As a player, he played for several Romanian clubs such as FC Universitatea Craiova, Universitatea Craiova, FC Steaua București, Steaua București, FC Dinamo București, Dinamo București and FC Oțelul Galați, Oțelul Galați. He also played in China for Liaoning Whowin F.C., Liaoning and Henan Jianye F.C., Henan Jianye and in Italy for lower league sides A.C. Trento S.C.S.D., Trento Calcio and S.S. Maceratese, Maceratese. He retired in 2006. Craiova
Craiova (, also , ), is Romania's 6th Cities in Romania, largest city and capital of Dolj County, and situated near the east bank of the river Jiu River, Jiu in central Oltenia. It is a longstanding political center, and is located at approximately equal distances from the Southern Carpathians (north) and the Danube, River Danube (south). Craiova is the chief commercial city west of Bucharest and the most important city of Oltenia. The city prospered as a regional trading centre despite an earthquake in 1790, a plague in 1795, and a Ottoman Empire, Turkish assault in 1802 during which it was burned. Eight villages are administered by the city: Făcăi, Mofleni, Popoveni, Șimnicu de Jos, Cernele, Cernelele de Sus, Izvoru Rece, and Rovine. The last four were a separate commune called ''Cernele'' until 1996, when they were merged into the city. The Cupa României ( en, Romanian Cup) is a Association football, football cup competition for List of football clubs in Romania, Romanian teams which has been held annually since 1933–34 Cupa României, 1933–34, except during World War II. The 1996–97 Cupa României was the 59th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Steaua București against Naţional București. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location.
