Aubrey Gover
Aubrey Trent Gover (born June 30, 1959) is a Canadian politician. He represented the electoral district of Bonavista South in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 1989 to 1993. He is a member of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador. The Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly is the Unicameralism, unicameral deliberative assembly of the General Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It meets in the Confederation Building (Newfoundland and Labrador), Confederation Building in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, St. John's. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Monarchy in Newfoundland and Labrador, King of Canada in Right of Newfoundland and Labrador, represented by the Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador. The governing party sits on the left side of the speaker of the House of Assembly as opposed to the traditional right side of the speaker. Bonavista South is a former provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As of 2011 the district had 6,843 eligible voters. It contains the communities of: Bonavista, Spillars Cove, Birchy Cove, Newman's Cove, Amherst Cove, Elliston, Little Catalina, Knights Cove, Stock Cove, King's Cove, Duntara, Keels, Open Hall, Redcliff, Tickle Cove, Plate Cove, Summerville, Princeton, Southern Bay, Charleston, Sweet Bay, Bloomfield, Musgravetown, Musgravetown, Lethbridge, Brooklyn, Portland, Jamestown, Winterbrook, Catalina, Port Union and Melrose. Jim Morgan (Canadian Politician)
James Charles Morgan (October 31, 1939 – August 4, 2019) was a Canadian politician. He represented the electoral district of Bonavista South in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 1972 to 1989. He was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Newfoundland and Labrador. Early life The son of Samuel Robert and Helen Morgan, he was born at St. John's and was educated at Memorial University, at Devry Technical School in Toronto and at Sir George Williams University in Montreal. In 1967, Morgan married Denise Philippe. Political career Morgan was elected to the Newfoundland assembly in 1972. He served in the provincial cabinet as Minister of Transportation and Communications, as Minister of Tourism, as Minister of Forestry and Agriculture and as Minister of Fisheries. He represented the district of Bonavista South from 1993 to 2011 and served as Speaker of the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly.
